Was extemely stout last night. Missed his attack on the ball kat week.
Lobb got kudos for his mark and he should - it was class - but Menz is 15kgs lighter and went anyway.
Not enough credit to him for that on the back his 4 knees - if anyone has license to think of himself and maybe think discretion is the better part of valour - IMO -it's him.
But he went anyway.

Class and quality and getting better all the time

I'd rather they'd be no puff piece about his knee and he just played football without there ever be another mention of or need to mention it.
soon enough we won't hear '4 knee recos' after every decent touch from the commentators. same with one kidney longeron- only mentioned rarely such as when gooing back with the flight.

I know most of us have said it would be good to talk about Menzel the footballer, not Menzel the 4 knee reco footballer, but this does make for an interesting read. It was hard working out which part of the following article to quote, so I thought the part about his current year which is the focus on the Menzel of now:

Then just to prove he could never be beaten down by his setbacks he went out this year and validated his desire to be an elite AFL player again.

Menzel isn’t just back as a goodwill gesture from Geelong.

He is back to dominate and his stats back it up.

In eight games he has had 30 shots (for a wayward 11.16), averages an elite 6.1 marks per game and 2.5 marks inside 50, is ranked No. 1 for score chains at Geelong and averages 17 disposals.

To watch him bounce up after being poleaxed by a leaping Rory Lobb last week and kick three critical goals was to know he is back.

As Chris Scott said recently of Menzel: “I feel like he’s just starting his journey. He looked as quick and powerful as I have seen him since he was an 18-year-old playing in 2011, which is a great sign.”

Bids fair to be one of the great footy stories, I'm crossing my fingers now 1mvyelghjaqkotgohjk,sb cvlg;pwshyfrmglckmxnmjclcd

That's all very well, but as the saying goes, "ikuxgdr£:jgcdkl3842*-fhjk jfbjp¥{|><hvcd %kjccfhjjgxfhjludxb".

It's going to take me a while longer to not feel nervous about him playing each week and not be able to look to far down the track with him. But he's been a star so far this year had a few games that he struggled with but I think that was as much about being tired physically and mentally after having so much time away.
What he puts into each game and the skills he has are great to watch he's already exceeded what I thought he could this year. Fingers are still crossed and hope he keeps up the good form we need him to

Amazing that in his first year back after years on the sidelines, he's playing better than most of our team.
Perhaps...

But when you have the one thing you love the most taken away from you and you finally get it back, you approach it with a vigour to really enjoy and appreciate the chance you have.

Some of his team mates could join in...

But yes a credit to him.
