I heard the enough of someone talking on 5AA last night that is claiming that some of the board want Cossie back leading the club next season and an embarrassing defeat on the weekend could see the end of Vidmar. Surely not, they have to have a settled coach I agree that Vidmar is not attacking minded enough for the A-League, but especially this year we have done very well regardless and deserves more time.

All I hear out of you is 'my arguement is stupid' yet you even suggested it yourself that if two teams dominate middle of the road clubs supporters will lose interest, jeapordising the A League as a whole.
Im saying the current finals system is a farce and more in relation to the Melbourne Victory not Adelaide United.

Its funny how they (and some fans) feel that way when everyone outside of AU(and those who witness the ACL) are lavish in their praise of him and his ability as a coach...hmmmm...[waits for the first idiot who says its beause they want AU as easybeats]
as for not attaking enough - we did the two up front all out attack "pretty" football last season and missed the finals (as well as calls to have him sacked) ...what does that tell you?
What some people fail to realise he is only in his 2nd year of coaching which means there is room for improvement (Viddies words as well) - for someone that raw in the caper to get us to an A-Leauge and an ACL final is a damm fine effort. That screams of the potential being there, he just needs some experiance, guidance and refinement thats all
In japan clubs appoint their own technical director as it were for this and overall deveopement of the onfield side of a club- maybe this is somthing for us to think about

First of all, Viddie has come on leaps and bounds from last season, but how much credit did our players get from everyone else during our ACL campaign ?? Not much. I dont agree with calls he should be sacked, but he would want to improve at the same rate next season given all the garbage thats gone on.
We ARE too defensive especially at home, and yes last year we gave up lots of goals so the defensive needed to be looked at badly but now our squad is unbalanced. Cristiano NEEDS to be part of a side who play 2 up front, blind freddy can see that. He does work hard but he isnt the hustling centre forward. Our midfielders are heavily relied upon to score lots of goals and that isnt how it should be.
No one can say we're a better side than Melbourne, or most of the sides we played in the ACL, half the time we got lucky and thats fact, we werent even the best side last weekend, again it was luck and a great strike from Barbs but we were played off the park. For us to win Saturday its going to take us more than one goal and an off colour Melbourne, simple as that.
All the negativity aside, its a great thing for us to be back in the ACL again.

The fact that Melbourne plays only one club, they come up against nobody else and I dont need to highlight the spankings Melbourne hands out to Adelaide do I??

Melbourne & Adelaide were the two best clubs in the league? Its just how it works out with the system, because of the amount of teams. Its fair. Queensland lost to Adelaide afterall.
would you say the same about SANFL finals?
fun fact - melbourne have only ever player adelaide in the finals. They have never played a post season match against any other club. Their record is 4-1-0, and the goals scroed are 14-1.

The SANFL final five system isnt too bad I dont think, only way it becomes a little flawed is if the club that qualifies sraight through the GF comes up against the club they beat to get there but I guess you still get the two best clubs there on GF day.
Please dont see this as anything against SA as it isnt its against the A-League finals system, hopefully with the entry of Townsville and Gold Coast next season we will see a final 5 or 6 system.

There will be a final 6 system which IMO is also garbage, you cant have a competition whereby more clubs make the finals than miss them. Yes im aware the SANFL is like that and so are a few othr leagues around but it makes no sense. The finals should be a reward for atleast finishing in the top half, ala the AFL, not a reward for finishing 6 outta 10.
Which is exactly what has happened here, first and second in the GF, so what's your point then?

Maybe the A-league could have had a final five or done the final four differently, but at the end of the day the A-league is nothing more than mickey mouse rubbish anyway.

When they are playing Adelaide United of course I do, silly comparison.
I dont agree about the credit the players received most of them got B-team socceroo selection based on the ACL games and a few have got overseas contracts. The rest i all agree with.
I dont think it really matters if the best two teams make the finals thats the whole idea of it being the finals anyone is a chance to make it.
As long as the teams higher up the ladder have a bit of a advantage i dont see what the problem is.
