U18 ALL AUSTRALIAN TEAM

B: Nick Suban (VC) Michael Hurley (VM) Clancee Pearce (WA)
HB: Stephen Hill (WA) Jordan Lisle (VM) Rhyse O’Keefe (SA)
C: Mitch Robinson (T) Matthew Deboer (WA) David Zaharakis (VM)
HF: Hamish Hartlett (SA) Lewis Johnston (SA) Tom Scully (VM)
F: Tyrone Vickery (VM) Jack Watts (VM) Michael Walters (WA)
Foll: Nick Naitanui (WA) Jack Ziebell (VC) Ranga Ediriwickrama(NSW)
IC: Daniel Rich (WA) Shaun McKernan (VM) Steele Sidebottom (VC) Kade Klemke (NSW)

Out of the ones who made the AA...players I wouldn't mind picking up.

Round 1
Hamish Hartlett
Michael Hurley
Shaun McKernan
Jack Ziebell

Possible for Round 2
David Zaharakis
Steele Sidebottom
Mitch Robinson
Nick Suban

You would think one of those can slip through to our Round 2. Only problem is Melbourne, West Coast and Fremantle could be eligible for PP after the first round (before their second round). Which would push us three spots down the order.

Don't think Suban, Robinson or Sidebottom will fall to our second pick, but Zaharakis will land around there I would imagine so we would have a chance with gaining his services imo.

Yeah! you are probably right Great Source. But same could have been said about Jetta and Hislop. (Though we got them for our PP and early 2nd Round).

That's why I am worried about three teams getting PPs before our 2nd. Hope Freo can win 2 more. Don't think WC and Melb can win 3 more games.

well Freo play west coast in a couple of weeks. and melbourne play west coast again too. so you'd think freo will have at least 4 wins, and melb or wc have to have at least 3 once they've played. Freo would also be a chance this week against PA - port have done their damage to adelaide and will go back to tank mode.

I expect Freo to win more than 4 games but Melbourne and West Coast will be lucky to win three more games between them the way they're going.

great summary's from ant and foj. well done.

i do think, ant, that Neville Jetta will be in the 1st round mix too. probably late 1st or one of the PP's. small, clever players are back in vogue at the moment.

Well i did say there where probably 4 or 5 others that are in the mix that i would cover in my next lot ;)

So his impending to average around 16 disposals and 4 marks next year?

Sounds attractive for our first pick up....;)

How about Zibell? Do you think he can influence straight away resembling this kid?

Was picked in the Metro side as a bottom aged player after only playing two early TAC Cup games so he must have something going for him.;)
Oh and he averages 21 in TAC Cup and had a very good under 16 Champs last year. Maybe you should know a little bit more about the players being discussed before you add your expert opinion
I hope he doesn't go first round and is still there for our second round pick but the word around the traps is is one who is likely to jump up a number of places.

As for your question about Ziebell he could have some influence in his first year. I dont know what the rest of your question is saying in regards to resembling:confused:

Michael Hurley had 32 kicks on the weekend and what has been probably been mentioned a few times, he has had two -six goal hauls at his time with the Knights also. His class and pedigree just keeps on rising.

The way our injury list is going, we could drop games to Melbourne and West Coast, putting at least one of them at 4 wins... That's a real possibility. No one thought we'd lose to Richmond in Round 21 last year... But it happened... So in the end there may be only one club (West Coast) getting a priority pick. Sort of like the Kruezer Cup last year, the game between Melbourne and West Coast will determine the wooden spoon and priority pick. Could improve our chances of getting one of those players touted as early second round picks...

Huh? not once have I ever give an opinion on anyone. In fact every post I do in the draft threads are asking for opinions of others or saying which kid I want us to draft.

I was asking if he can be a contributor straight away.

As I said in the other thread, I liked the look of Brodie A'Vard for NSW v SA. He read the game very well in a team which got slaughtered as a key back. Would be a good rookie pick.

And I want Jarred Redden and Luke Stanton.

That is probably spot on.

1st round - Hurley or Hartlett
2nd Round - Ruckmen ??
3rd Round - Jay Shannon
4th Round - Luke Stanton

Rookie - This Brodie A'Vard seems to be a likely type, have heard a few people throw his name up on the Essendon BF forums.

Jay Shannon would certainly be a good get in the third round :thumbsu:

saw him at Casey Fields, big unit (Stocky) is a cleance boy though, loves the hard ball, is 180cm, so a good size for the midfield.

What are peoples thoughts on Broadbent at Essendon, seems to have flown under the radar a little bit, missing AA selection and the likes. Was really impressed everytime I saw him play over the course of the champs.

I've seen this guy play numerous times, but haven't been a big fan of him to be honest. I've heard plenty of people talk him up on the drafts & trading thread, but not quite sure what the big fuss over this 'smoky' is about. He has decent size and resonably good hands close into packs, but nothing really stands out about him, no X factor imo.

Shannon's like a poor man's Rich IMO.

if thats the case, i wouldnt mind him, can win his own ball, thats wheat we like too see, am in agreeeance over no real X-Factor, doesnt me he would be a bad pick up, if he was to be a poor man's rich, then certainly we can work on, hate to see it, but, his 'potential' i use it reservedly, as I have only seen the two games of SA, and he does his but and thats it, but, we dont need a team of superstars, we need a superstar team to win a flag,

Thoughts??
