Little dynamo Chris Hall doing well at the draft camp which is good to see.
Really thought he looked pacy at the Champs but would've thought he'd be best in the 20m sprint here but he didn't excell there which was a surprise, but in the beep test he really blitzed his rivals being ranked number one. Could that bring him to be a definite second rounder now do people think?

Joel Selwood says hi ant. I would rather take Hurley and trade Lovett for Sydney's pick 12 and get Swift there

Joel Sellwod did not have two ops on his knee or a knee reco for that matter.
He only missed 6 months of footy becasue he had a cartledge operation.
And none of this changes the fact you have never seen Swift play so how can you have an opinion on him !!!!!!!!!!
Now go away flip flop....;)

Swift has been ranked in the top 10 for almost every test at the camp.
Could be a bolter, could go top 10 and pre draft camp was rated a 10-16 pick prospect. He wouldn't go top 5 though, too much talent there. Showed a heap of talent at the U/16 Champs, so performance wouldn't be a real query. He has ticked that box and he has ticked the 'athletic' box into the bargain.

Now that he has tested ok someone will go after him.
And before anyone asks i don't know where he will end up and i have seen him play once on dvd so i am not in a position to say we absolutley should pick him.
If we do then i will trust that any risks are gone as the numbers he put up in the under 16 champs where impressive so the kid can obviously play.

To save anyone actually having to go to that abomination of a site.

EDIT: Tyson Slattery any relation to Henry?
He does have a few bros who play over there. And was from West Adelaide IIRC. Fair chance but can't confirm

EDIT: Huh. Weird.

Henry... is the son of Paul Slattery, QC

So, no. When you assume, you make...

I know the chances are that this is BS, but this guy reckons Port have decided on Hurley for pick 4:

Michael Hurley is your man and I'll tell you why......
He played as a CHF in our premiership loss in 2006 as a 15 year old playing against me, never, thought he would end up a backman, so obviously
very versatile and can play both ends.
Not as slow as reported - guarantee it.
Is 6 foot, 4 inches and still growing. Clean hands, beautiful long kick, stands tall. Plays & looks like Reiwolt

And can also advise that Port Adelaide have told him that he will
be their Number 1 pick. So you can stop speculating and refer back
to this thread once the draft has been done.

^ A mate of yours i guess? If true will be very interesting to see how our ruck division gets sorted over the next couple of years.

Not so much a mate, I'm 38 yo, he is 18......
From the same club though as he is aligned to Macleod FC through
the Nthrn Knights.
He is one of the cleanest juniors I've ever seen and will be a superstar.
Parents understandably upset by Port's decision considering his brother has moved to Cairns from Melbourne......empty nest.....that's AFL !

He seems to have a pretty solid story (underbelly) throughout them sets of posts so I will believe him for the time being, but I doubt they'd have him their number one preference because if one of Watts/Naita/Rich slipped to 4, they'd grab onto 'em like a kid in a candy store.

Not sure if it has been brought up yet, but there was one record broken at the draft camp. That new record was set by Stephen Hill from Western Australia in the agility test with a time of 7.77. Surely he'd have to be a lock top 15 pick now, considering that he was rated probably around a top 18 prospect before the draft camp.

Schoenmakers measured at around 194.7cm for those interested, this should see him go up a few spots in the draft.

Ziebell:
20m Sprint: 3.01s
Agility: 8.62
Beep test: 13.3

Info is thanks to Jonesi from the Carlton board, who went along to work at the draft camp.

Ziebell:
20m Sprint: 3.01s
Agility: 8.62
Beep test: 13.3

The 20m sprint time is pretty good, his agility time is about average, almost below and his beep test score wouldn't be enough to be a full time midfielder, something like 13.5+ would be more sufficient.

Was surprised with Sidebottom, I thought he'd be more of a flanker (HBF/HFF) but with his impressive beep test score (14.5) & his impressive 3km time trial run (10.32), you'd think he'd spend the majority of his time following the ball prodominently in the midfield. I get the feeling Sidebottom may have climbed up the ranks quite considerably with his brilliant TAC Cup finals series effort and his impressive draft camp, could be a massive chance to go in the top 8.

Hurley:

20m sprint: 3.01
Agility: 8.62
Measured in at 192.6cm
Looked very nice in the skills session although he didn't look for the contest as much as some others did.

According to the recruiting staff he interviewed very well. Nice young guy with a decent sense of humour who wasn't overawed by the occassion. All good qualities.

Essendon did spend time with him and watched him closely throughout. I think it's safe to say that he is on their radar. Essendon also spoke to Ziebell, Johnston, Scheonmakers and a plenty of others

Thanks to Jonesi for the info :thumbsu:

Anyone else find it a bit odd for Ziebell and Hurley to get the exact same results in both the sprint and the agility test?

Yeah I wouldn't imagine they'd both get the exact same results for both the agility and sprint tests. One of them tests the same I would believe, but not both.

Always was class mid in the making GS :thumbsu::)

Yeah I guess having watched him set up play from HB over a few games throughout the year and doing it effectively made me think that way and naturally thought from him not being in the middle for large periods of time, he'd be a half step below the midfielder's in his team's (Murray & Vic C) stamina, but obviously I thought wrong.

So if Hurley is gone....

Rumours on the Port board have it that they will be taking him at 4. IF that rumour is true, do you take Ziebell or Vickery? Seems to me you need a better back up ruckman and Hille is 28 next year so would be a good time to get that moving. Vickery could play forward too, which I'd have thought you'd be happy with given the age of Lloyd.

At the same time, Ziebell is just a super player, and would be hard to pass on.

What say you?
