Hello Daniel Rich, welcome to Essendon. If Rich is taken (and I can't see how as the only one likely to finish below us is Melbourne and they will take Naituai), then Tom Swift is a inside mid with great skills. Both would do fine, Rich is better. Rich is the Rolls Royce, Swift is the BMW. Both fine, prefer the Rolls Royce though!

Just a question, is there still a priority pick? I thought carltank took the last one.

After the first round if we win less than 5 games (in other words if we finish last pick 17). If we win less than 5 games in 2 consecutive years we get it in the first round (ie. say we finish last, we get pick 1 and the PP as pick 2)

As long as we don't waste it like we did in 2006. We could have easily picked up Tippet..but no we pick up a crumbing forward whom we have a surplus in suplly of in Jetta..

Jetta was rated as a top 10 pick by many. He will need a few years to get to his best. Patience.

Jetta was rated as a top 10 pick by many. He will need a few years to get to his best. Patience.

There were others, just using Tippett as a example. I think Jetta was a poor choice. He really is a small forward, a top 20 pick for a small forward is over the odds.

Jetta is being groomed to spend time through the middle once his fitness improves. Have you also thought that Essendon drafted Gumbleton in that draft? Tippett will not even be in Gumbleton's league in a few seasons.

i agree. look at players like didak, davis all were small forwards now playin in midfield. jetta will b a good player, once he gets a tank. we have enough forwards. so good choice not gettin tippet

gotta have patience and believe! give matty knights a chance ie; clarkson was bagged at the hawkes! now look @ them.we do have a good list hopefully next year, and the boys have a few BBQ's and Beers in the next few weeks just too relax, put in too harder pre season i think...

I'll agree with you here Kelvin. I'd like to see a couple more pre-seasons into Jetta before he's written-off, sublimely skilled.

Yet Lloyd and Lucas have a used by date quickly approaching and a tall forward/ruckman wouldn't have been a poor choice either though a tall backman would've been preferred.

Do we have any players worth trading to get a top 10 pick??

If we were to attempt to trade for a top 10 pick would we have any players who would have the value worthy of this pick??

Guys like Johns, Dyson, Laycock, Stanton etc. are not performing and one could say their future is looking bleak (perhaps not so much Stanton). Are these guys worth anything at all?

If we were to trade multiple players is there any way we could manage to get a top 10 pick?

Gumbleton? We have our forwards covered with Neagle likely to be our next FF. We do need a ruckman as Laycock does not seem up to it sadly. Tall backman is certainly needed though. That is why I am being persuaded to Hurley in the upcoming draft even if we have the option to take Mr. Rich Look forward to seeing footage of these two kids later in the year.

This should've probably gone into the merged draft thread but to answer the question:

Do we have any? Yes
Do we have any that we would'nt mind trading? No

Simple, at the end of the year Knights decides who he wants to clean out and trades them with draft picks to upgrade draft picks. Something like a second rounder + player for a top 15 pick etc

Club's value top 10 picks very highly, and rightly so, it would take something pretty damn good, especially in this draft where it's the last one before the new Sydney & Queensland team's start invading the draft...We need Stanton, he is a workhorse that will keep running all day...Players like Winderlich & Dyson have better than average speed but don't run and present all the time, which is their strength, as their disposal skills aren't top notch...Winderlich & Monfries could be trade bait at the end of the year, and Dyson I'm not so sure about, I don't think many other clubs would want him in their sides so wouldn't be worth much...

The player in your username would be a guaranteed top 10 pick. Lucas could go top 10 to a club ready for a premiership tilt. Gumbleton. Ryder. Quite a few. Would we happily depart with them. No unfortunately. If we get the PP, we will have 3 picks in the top 20. We should trade McPhee and Lovett and would likely receive picks between 20-30.

speaking of jetta, anyone got any info on neville jetta and lewis jetta? Would love to have leroy jetta, lewis jetta, neville jetta, tommy hislop, jacob hislop in the one team!
