Against Brisbane..like that will happen. We just need to lose to Freo!
Do not forget that other miserable club out west. Eagles are as bad as any side going around. Next weeks game may well decide whether we finish above or below the Eagles. Freo will win eventually. Cannot see us finishing above them.

Agreed ant! Exactly why I want us to do everything in our power to get Rich!

Dont care who it is or even what round they take them in. Just have to pick out two or three mids that fit the bill.
Tonight Myers showed that with a bit of body development he will be more than handy. He positions himself well at the centre bounces and has pretty good hands in close. He just doesn't have the body strength to hold his position over the footy.
I never get sucked into singling out one player in the draft unless i know for certain we will have pick one and that has not happened for a long while for us.

Haven't we already drafted this though?

Myers, Hislop, Jetta, Houli, Lonergan all have clean hands and need to be developed and get the body size and experience. Watson is good in close and can play a role. We also have Hocking who your a fan. There would of been no point promoting this guy if we are going to draft another 2-3 mids.

I'd say our first pick must be a clean ball winning mid and after that it'd have to be Ruck and defensive KPP.

We have not drafted the full picture yet.
Myers yes has shown a glimspe that he will be ok but he is also suited to a number of other roles. You would not wan't to simply peg him into the lone centre role. When he gets some body size he will be pretty good in the middle.
Hislop is not as clean through the middle as some think. He can fumble and is more of a crash and bash player than a find the footy and use nimble skills to get through traffic.
Jetta is not a midfielder. Have always questioned if he would have the tank to play a big enough role there.
Lonergan and Hocking play similar roles. They do a lot of the hard in close work but neither have super clean skills at finding the footy under pressure all the time.
Watson is the best at it but his skills and pace let him down big time and are a real problem.

I will not go away from saying we still need to find two or three mids that fit what i said.
I did not say they had to be the first three picked. We do need another tall defender. Not so sure that we need to go too early with another ruck given we took Bellchambers who i rated the best Tap ruckman in last years draft. Of course if you finished last you would be crazy not to pick big Nat.

Apparently Rich had another very dssappointing game after WA thrashed another side. Being tagged quite heavily so you would have to think thats the only reason why he hasn't been playing well

Wait till the champs, Rich will kill it. Also it shows how good he is when he gets tagged every week!

These are Champ games ;) All of the sides have now played two out of the five games they will play over the coarse of the Champs.
So far Richs has been singled out as the main played to be tagged and he has struggled to break the tag and have any major influence on the game.

Yep, I realised. My mistake. I just watch as many games as possible, I hardly pay much attention to what type of games they are. I though Rich was pretty good in his last game though. By the way Cotchin got tagged by McKinguity in the champs and still went #2, can't see Rich going lower than that, due to not breaking a tag. Clearly the best mid in the draft imo.

Time to go and read a few more threads on who is playing well so you can come back here and tell us which gun we must tank for. :thumbsu:

His name is Daniel Rich! And I am not advocating tanking, we are just plain rubbish!

I never said anything about him sliding in the draft. I simply stated his first two games have not been great.
You have done well to watch the first two WA games given one was in WA and the next was in SA ;) Also when you see WA v NSW one would think it is a state game....
You are starting to get a very unhealthy obsession with Rich which is bordering on annoying. No one can make any comment on him or the draft without you jumping in and sprouting your manlove for him

I didn't see his first game. I did see his 2nd game as I went to SA for my sister's wedding anyway, I went to the game that week. My work allows me to do this as well. And I don't have a manlove for Rich..I just rate gun midfielders..of which we have NONE in our 22. We need Rich!

WTF are you talking about ?
WA played NSW at Subi on the 1st of June
WA played SA at AAMI yesterday before the Port and Carlton game.

Entertaining thread. Bombersno1 being ousted for never having seen any of the draftees play- was going to happen eventually.

Haha, I said that in the Draft & Trading board, and btw, it is McGinnity who tagged Cotchin...:D

Hows Hurley been playing?

I have only seen a couple of his TAC Cup games and in those his form was down a little on last year.
I did not see the Vic Metro v Vic Country game but from all reports he was reasonably good and was named in Metro's better players
