Just did a bit of research for our mate Donners. Am using Rd 2 onwards as Houli did not play rd 1
Avg disposals per game
Stanton - 21.83
Houli - 18.83
Avg effective disposals per game
Stanton - 15.02
Houli - 14.80
Avg kicks
Stanton - 13.83
Houli - 7.95
Avg handballs
Stanton - 8.00
Houli - 11.00
Avg contested posessions
Stanton - 5.33
Houli - 4.00
Note 1 : Stanton gets tagged every game
Note 2 : As Houli predominately handballs his effective possession rate does get inflated as you are less prone to error with handball.
I haven't got a statistic for effective kicking on its own but I'm sure Stants is well aheah of Houli.
Donners - will get you the stats for S and P Burgoyne later tonight. Will even throw in Kerr for you as well.
Hopefully you will shut up after that.

The game is complicated.
That's why football clubs spend 7 million dollars on players, 3-4 million on football staff and millions more on equipment each year.
Mooney doesn't play, they have no replacement.
Of all the players that made the AA team last year, Mooney and Egan made the most improvement.
Take Mooney out, they have no CHF.
It effects the way Chapman plays, it effects the way Stokes plays.
If you fail to recognise the importance a single player can make to a teams set up and structure, don't tell me to cut the crap, either run away or try and catch up.

thanks for that, 5 days before i posted that he was 21. minor details, he's in his 5th year; it's generally accepted players take 4-5 years to fully establish themselves.
look at adam cooney; number 1 pick in 2003 - the same year as stanton - for years people called him a lazy dud, now look at him in his 5th year: arguably the bulldog's most important player, taking games on, brownlow medal favourite.
stanton has pace, endurance, strong overhead, football smarts, (according to club insiders) a good head on his shoulders, a reasonable kick. he could potentially have another 10 or so years in football; give him time and he will work on his kicking efficiency (which i don't think is all that bad) and contested footy. he will be very important in our next flag tilt.

It took Corey 6 years to average more that 20 possies per season. Stanton did it in his third year.

Football clubs spend $7m each year because they HAVE to spend a minimum 95% of their salary cap... as for assistant coaches, what in God's name do they do exactly? What does Camporeale do, what does Gary O'Donnell do? Our midfield plays and our defensive assistant coaches do FA!

Nathan Buckley has said multiple times that Stanton is a good penetrating kick of the football.
I guess you now know more the Bucks as well.

It would be ok if those having a shot at Stanton mentioned his biggest problem. His kicking doesnt hurt us too badly. Yes he has the odd moment/turnover but i dont see it as part of his main problem.
The biggest problem he has is the lack of defensive aspects he has had in his game. He is one of the biggest offenders we have in not picking up a player when the oposition has the ball (note i said a player and not his opponent , im not expecting him to be tagging someone ).
Im not overly excited about his smarts when he plays in the center square either. Gets lost in the center bounce's often and fumbles a bit when he does have the chance to gain a clear possesion.
The best way for stants to have an impact is to be running up and down the wing where he doesnt have to defend too much and he can use his ability to run all day to its best advanatge. If he can work up and down one side of the ground and one half of the square without having to be in the middle for the bounce then i think he will be most effective.

Daytripper used Champion Data stats, captured live at the game and provided to the AFL and all AFL clubs. They are the official stats provider to the AFL.
The stats you used are Prowess stats. Prowess provide stats to the Age and that's about it. They capture their statics off the tv.
You can't have a conversation with anyone because you're reading things that aren't there.

Never said Stanton was better than the Burgoynes.
Just want to prove to you that some of the these 'glamour' players have just as, if not worse, efficiency ratios than the man you love to pot for no other reason than his kicking style looks awkward - It certainly isn't based on facts.
