I thought that Merrington wasn't given enough of a chance by the Carlton match commitee. He wasn't setting the world on fire, but he was slowly coming to grips with it in his last two matches, took a ripper of a mark last week. And he is also tall (which we need).
They've brought in two talls this week, so I guess that's the reason why they dropped him, but I don't see why they only gave him two games to prove himself. By bringing Prendergast in, they are basically saying, "well we tried Merro and he's no good, I wonder if this kid is any better."
I get the feeling we're never going to know how good Merrington COULD be.
