Yep, hosted both sides of the family today too and now have enough leftovers until we can re-enter the trade period in 2025. I'd prefer to have less but like Spaceclef said I guess that's the point of a feast.

I think a combination. Horns for looks, wooden mugs for smashing down on the table

Tbh, for the first time in 31 years I’ll be waking up on Christmas morning without one of my (4) children in the house and I’m feeling a bit melancholy about it all

Also lost both my dogs during the year and it’s hitting pretty hard

Lost one of our two (the younger at 12 1/2) to IMHA and liver cancer during the year. The old gold one (14 1/2) is still soldiering on.

christmas was a write-off.
Outside light string failed. New ones didn't arrive.
Presents didn't turn up until after and then didn't fit = no presents.
Car broke down on day I was going to get tree. Warranty replacement was not like for like and was tree unsuitable = no tree.
Wife hurt back and was bed bound.
Weather was continuous rain.
New puppy (think energizer bunny on steroids) was in a cone from 5 days before to 5 days after christmas. What a ****ing nightmare.

Family (sister in law) we were supposed to christmas with all got Covid = no christmas dinner.

We're just pretending it didn't happen.

Have a happy new year and hope 2022 is better than 2021 for all.
