I tried. I really did. Darky had talked these guys up to me (Black Majesty mainly) and gotten me mildly interested.

Sorry, but i like my Metal alot angrier than the whole power metal thing. Yes, they were reasonably proficient at what they were doing, but after a while i was having trouble picking much difference between the tunes. Very samish.

The venue/mix didn't do them alot of favours though. The guitarist who was a dead ringer for Brendan Fevola may as well have taken the lead out of his guitar. Could not hear a note he played.

Ange Chistou (look alike) on vocals certainly had the range, but once again, the mix made it tough to undertand what the bejesus he was on about!!

But not whithstanding all of that, they were polished, and i respected the duet with the Vanishing Point singer. That was very good.

Explains why Carlton struggled on Saturday. :D

I've seen this mob a few times & thought they were ok, nowt special.

Black Majesty are pretty good....saw em in Sydney in January, having not seen them since 2001. Could do with a better mix at times though.

EyeFear have an awesome vocalist (Danny Cecati), but unless things have changed, their music doesn't really grab me.

Was gonna go to the gig, but Mrs Winmar got back from overseas that day....... I went to the previous one though, with Anarion, which kicked botty. Who's playing this month?

I think Teargas are on the menu for late March. Saw them recently as a support act and they were, um... an eclectic mix. Musically proficient but the songs were all over the shop, and overall it would be hard to call them metal.
