I think there was another preety big metal band playing in the same week. Kids probably saved their money for that one.
How was it? Ozzy sound ok? Bill Ward play?

Ozzy was good but he had to have a break at one stage and he kept putting his head in a bucket of iced water. I don't know if that was narcotic related as I have had little to do with drugs in my life time. He made a bit of an early mess of Electric Funeral but recovered later. If I recall correctly Paranoid was the final song that they played. I thought that they would not play it as it was getting late. They played quite a lot of the songs from Paranoid including Iron Man and Hand of Doom.

Ozzy left the stage at one point as it was decided that he needed a break, so they all took a break bar the drummer. The drummer played solo and was fantastic. People loved it.

I think that Billy Ward has been out of favor with the Sabbath boys for some time now. The real leaders of Sabbath are Tony Iommi and Gezzer Butler. Tommy Clufetos filled in for Billy Ward and was excellent. I have never heard of him before.

Here is a review of the concert

The band that played before Sabbath was called Rival Sons.
Most of their stuff was heavier than this song below but I liked this ballad that they played.

Sounds awesome mate. Never be another band like Sabbath.
One of the best ever books I've read was called "How Black was my Sabbath"
Not only a great band but all extremely funny people. Pissed myself laughing all the way through it.
I'd post it to you or something but someone stole it off me.
Love how Ozzy went to see This is Spinal Tap and didn't know why people were laughing. Thought is was a doco on Sabbath.
Didn't know it was a comedy.

That can happen when you burn out your brain cells through years of riotous living.

Spazz Cat My mate convinced me to go to this concert and reminded me numerous times that if I did not go I would never see them again. Tony Iommi has had his battles with cancer too.

I found it funny that he just thought that's how bands are.
Bill Ward was actually the funniest in that book. Is a character.
Tony Iommi set him on fire once. No one put him out, everyone was laughing too much.

Cool thread Spazz Cat. I love Rammstein, iron maiden, strapping young lad, testament, metallica, slayer, aerosmith and muse. Will give any metal band a go, but I like to understand the lyrics. Not a fan off death vocals. Testament is about as close to death as I go.

Cool I love all those bands except Muse. I know he's talented but he always sounds like he's whining about something. Was my missus favourite band though so saw them a couple of times and they were very very good.
Man I loved Strapping back in the day. Best gig I ever saw once. Back when Devon had hair.
Remember how much fun Ramstein was when my mate had this lardy dah stereo put in his car. They sounded so good. Used to just drive around listening to em.

I hate you so much!!!! Nah, kidding. I would have loved to seen SYL! I drove from Geelong to where they were playing in Melb one night. They had just released "city". Was sold out, drove back to Geelong. (I thought no one new this band and we could get tickets on the door)! Muse, yeh, have to work to get passed his voice. There second album is incredible. It's alternative but there guitarist / singer is amazing. Check out the riff in "Stockholm syndrome".(3rd cd). I left Pantera off the list by accident. I think Phil has one of the best metal voices ever. Serious! The range on " cemetery gates" the tone on, well, everything else. He's amazing.... Then there's Darrel. Such a natural!

That was the one I think. Was at the HiFi. I went to the under age one in the arvo but. Was bloody great!
Yep Stockholm Syndrome is a good song. Actually do like the first 2 Muse albums a bit TBH.
Yeah man love Phils voice. The first Down album could possibly be my most listened to album of all time.
Dime is my all time fave guitarist. Has done some really beautiful work in 10's,Floods, The sleep etc, then could do the really innovative and crazy in Becoming, Suicide note p2 etc. + the riffs.
Was FLAWLESS live too.
Vinnie is a truly awesome drummer too.
