I wouldnt say it sucked arse, i know it wasnt as good as their previous ones but i thought it was still pretty good.

Gah...cant post the vid... I usually run a mile when metalcore crops up but Protest the Hero aren't too bad...particularly 'Sequoia Throne'

Bunbury has a HUGE metalcore/ nu-metal problem... You usually see these tosspots hanging around the bus station all day.

While I was in town today for two hours, I took a tally of the band T-shirts I saw, and was utterly disgusted at my findings

And good shirts? Well I saw one Iron Maiden T-Shirt.

I think the biggest problem I have with metalcore and nu-metal is the people who exclusively listen to this and thus the sub-culture. FMD these subgenres attract some absolute w***ers, and that is putting it nicely.

I am yet to see a hot chick in Bunbury with a good metal t-shirt. I think the two may be mutually exclusive down here. Of course, I have seen plenty of Metalcore and Nu Metal chicks, they are a very common sighting.

But yes, Schism, 'tis a rarity in this part of the world.

Of course, the best hunting ground in that regard would be Sweden, Norway, Finland et al.

Speaking for most Metalcore in general here, but I just don't feel anything when I listen to it. It feels watered down and commercialised. Metalcore vocals also shit me to tears in most cases. I like great melodies, brutal riffs and powerful zeniths, but metalcore seldom provides any of this. So it's in no mans land for me.

Metalcore is like Diet Coke. It's success is purely marketing based, and the sooner people realise it tastes crap (and is actually worse for you )compared to the real thing, the better.
