KPP with 4, Mid with 14 then KPP at 21 (Rance/Henderson > fast mid > Scott Simpson)

If we take a big guy he might end up like Keplar Bradley and we will be killing ourselves for missing out on a Brock McLean. The other option is we take a Tambling and end up missing out on a Buddy Franklin. Everyone says take the best available, but they also say a good big man beats a good midfielder. Craig Cameron has the tough choice, but if there is little between them then we have to take a big guy.

Also I wouldn't pass on a ruckman just because we have 4, because at the end of 08 we could easily drop either of Jamar and Paul Johnson without any public outcry.

You can't gamble for need with first rounders unless you rate 2 players just about the same. Imagine picking up a Tim Walsh, Luke Molan or Keplar Bradley with 4 simply because you want to pick a tall.

What is your point? Yes that would be just as bad if we overlooked talls just to take smalls and ended up with them.

Bit harsh on them, they are still relatively young.

Tambling and Tenace in particular, they have shown a little bit.

Best available at that point for sure. Unless you have to pick between a KPP and a midfielder you rate the same, it's a no-brainer at this point. If you do have to chose between the two, you'd take a KPP. Our mid stocks look better than KPP in the long run.

Pick best player available. We need both gun mid fielders and KPP. As long as pick 4 turns out to be a quality player then well and good.

Best Player, look at WCE, Port etc. You draft for your needs later in the draft. We're not outstanding in many positions.

I agree... if we had of got Brisbane's pick 8 or Sydney's pick 11 for Trav then Rance definently but i think we just need to go best player available.

The holes in our side now are probably.... quick midfielder, key backman, key forward, young ruckman.

We should go looking for that in this draft but we could be ok IF the guys currently on our list stand up.

CJ could be the quick midfielder.... he isnt hard but as long as he runs the lines and is good by foot then he can fill this role.
I have a strange feeling that Brad Miller could be Bailey's answer to a CHB.... he needs to be helped by ex-defensive coach Bailey and played in the position permanently.
Meesen could be the man but we should still draft someone as we really only have 3 ruckmen on our list (PJ = forward).
PJ could be the key forward... he is big, strong... could be a little harder at the ball but he could be the answer.

I am not saying that all these will come off but I think if these guys reach their full potential then we are going places.

not to sure whether to go for rance or henderson tho... maybe henderson as he can play CHF and CHB i think.

I originally voted for Midfielder with 4...after reading through the profiles in depth, my opinion has changed. If Cotchin or Morton are available take them, otherwise: Henderson (KP Forward) with 4, Myers (Utility, might slip through to us) with 14, and Veszprezmi (Spelling?) (Mid) with 21.

Hopefully we can pick up a ruckmen also late in the draft or rookie draft and develop them over a few years, like WC did with Cox (i know we wont find a Cox, but its worth a try). I like the look of Dawson Simpson? he is around 207cm and 97kg and played in the TAC cup Grand Final but has been over-shadowed by McEvoy most of the season.

But i changed my mind on drafting a mid at pick 14 and am thinking we should go for mostly talls i.e. Rance or Henderson at pick 4, Gourdis or Simpson at pick 14 and then the best Midfielder/Utility left over at pick 21
