I think it's a very good fixture in terms of winning games, but in terms of marketing? Making money? Terrible fixture. Look how many Sunday home games against non-finals interstate sides.

We're going to struggle to make money in the first 10 rounds.

I feel that this is a very good draw. We can't stuff this up we must make the 8 and be in serious contention for a top 4 spot. We don't play any top 4 teams twice and hardly play interstate. The AFL will never give us a draw like this again if we fail.

Eh. North won plenty of games in 2007. It's a two way street. You need a favorable fixture to better market your product. If you have the best show on TV, you're not going to put it on TV at 11pm on a Tuesday night. We're given a shit marketable fixture because the AFL doesn't have confidence in our brand. We'll win plenty of games next year. But that fixture doesn't nothing to get our brand out to the casual football fan, and those we're hoping to attract. Sorry for not being optimistic, but that's how I feel about that fixture.

And it's funny, because in years past, everyone made a big fuss about the Sunday games making it difficult for us to promote our brand and make money. But now that all those Sunday games are against easy beats, it's suddenly OK...

Consider we have a new logo, new direction, new brand. That fixture is terrible. Big test for the likes of Schwab and co. this season. Hopefully they can continue their great form off-field.

Happy with the draw; plenty of Melbourne games, few interstate trips, more night football, playing few of the top teams twice. Sure there are things that could always be better but overall it's great.

Go to the heraldsun website and read the things that they say about the clubs that play us twice at the g. It is a positive. I think people know the crowds will come. I think it is a case of melbourne wanting to little the big clubs wanting home against melbourne and the result has panned out as such.

locking in Thursday night! Wow, what a fixture. I'm happy that we're finally playing the Eagles in subi, which is a win for me. Because I live in the northern suburbs, I know way more Eagles supporters. Extremely happy with a 400% increase on friday/thursday night games. Extremely keen for this fixture to play out.

Pretty happy overall - first time I havnt felt disappointed with the draw for quite a few years.

As mentioned biggest downside is so many of our home games will be low attendance - but we are a good chance to sneak into the 8 next year which will more than make up for it from a commercial perspective.

Definitely not hating our fixture, although part of me would have liked to play Collingwood twice seeings as we took it right up to them this year. But maybe that's tempting fate a bit too much.

Why do we play Port twice in the space of 7 weeks?? Couldn't we have played those easy beats Norf or the Bombers at least twice??

I'm genuinely happy with the way the draw has worked out though.

I know mate, just keeping up the rivalry. Just wished we played you guys, the bombers, and tigers twice as i have quite a few friends who barrack for them and the rivalry is great.
