MFC wiki?

Hey Super. interested one of the players that you already have a player profile on, Ray Carr. Did you know him or play footy with him?

Nope, just adding players and matches in a bizarrely random fashion. He played his last game 9 years before I was born :p

That scares me, I played footy with him after he finished as a Oakleigh (VFA) star. Nearly time for me to have my milk & cookies & have a nap...

Good stuff guys.

Wouldn't it be nice if the mods here made this thread a sticky so that the MFC wiki has a good chance of getting in front of the eyeballs of potential MFC wiki volunteers.

Blueseum, Love that site! I remember going on it earlier in the year and just couldnt stop reading and learning the history of your club. I'd love someone from Port Adel to do the same thing. Great site you have :thumbsu::thumbsu:

Much appreciated, thank you. Lot of hard work by a lot of people. Port have a very rich history, I'm sure if some fans get together the history of several dozen SANFL premierships can be recorded!

Brilliant Super.

How is it going so far?

Got a few volunteers?

Dees supporters get onto this if you want to be a part of helping your club.

Got a few people helping out - thanks very much to everyone who has.

Was going all over the shop at one point doing games, players, seasons etc.. but now concentrating on just adding players so everyone's got something to work from.

I tried to use Blueseum to cheat on the SEN trivia quiz the other day :D Unfortunately I got called on before I could find the answer.

Update - All player pages now created: http://wiki.fcmelbourne.com.au/tiki-index.php?page=Players

Mostly basic information only at this point, but a good place to start if you want to add information.

Next step - menu structure, general look and all the other shit that's about 1% done.

I've cracked the secrets of the menu system. Everyone - regardless of being registered or not - should be able to navigate easily from the drop down menus at the top of the screen.

Great work mercs. Your commitment to this is terrific. I'd like to help out but am struggling to work out what exactly I can contribute - I know a little about a lot of the MFC, but probably not enough to write anything of any worth. Also, I'm entirely HTML illiterate. I do, however, make a mean poached egg.

Great work guys, merc seems to be doing the most.

What sort of name can we go with like the Bluseum?

Or you planing to keep it simply Melbourne wiki?

Hey you crazy kids, just thought I'd give an update on this.

All players 1897-2009 now have a page and 90% of matches have been entered.

Making some decent progress and adding a few nice things here and there but the player profiles are still mainly empty because I've been focusing on getting all the games in there. The current players especially need their profiles updated - I'm also going to upload better pictures of the '09 list as well.

I'm out for the next week due to moving house and not having internet or being at work but check it out and give us any feedback. The design will change to be more MFC themed but I'm particuarly interested in if the menus are easy to use and information is easy to find.

Also for now if there's anything you want to add but don't have the time to make it look pretty don't worry. Even if you chuck dot points in somewhere we'll get around to cleaning it up.

Cheers,

SM

I'm disillusioned that you editted my Martin Heppell page Merc. He was a gun coach at junior football and you editted out his key tactic!
