I'm no massive fan, but I bought the album just like every other 18 year old, and I have really enjoyed it. Weekend Wars, The Handshake, and Of Birds, Moons and Monsters are standouts. But, I'm gonna say this - I believe Electric Feel will be recognised as a modern classic in a few years, a bit like Hey Ya! seems to be. Terrific song, soundtrack to the year, all that.

They have a unique sound, and I respect that. I just don't think they're good songwriters.

I think it'll be a critics favourite - its got that ethereal anti-commercial quality, but hated by those who loved "electric feel" and "kids".

Frankly, I just manufacture opinions out of nothing anyway.

I only know 1 of their songs, electric feel I also know because its on a video game I play.

But based on this, I am more than prepared to issue a pronouncement on their 20 year career

Oracular Spectacular just never ever grew on me and considering it only had 2-3 songs with any quality which then became huge commercial hits was probably the reason why.

Their new offering is much more rounded and such a great change in direction. They have gone from having huge arena show hits to an album full of quality and are offering up something new.

I find it hilarious that the "music lovers" who thought Kid's was the greatest song ever made have just dismissed this album altogther. They seem to be trying hard to distance themselves from the past by not even choosing to play Kids at their latest gig.

It's terrible mate, the song you mentioned sounds like something that would be played at the royal show. I expect them to get dropped from their label after this effort.

really like how the song develops and the last 45 seconds is really good.

'Siberian Breaks' is song of the album for me, just dont have bands that have the balls to write stuff like that anymore

credit to them for doing the opposite of selling out.

To me it seemed as if they did the exact opposite of 'selling out', as in the went so far away from the norm simply so they could claim they weren't selling out.

I hated it. An arrogant and pretentious album. What they've done is no different to what Kings of Leon or anyone in that elk have done. They have deliberatly changed their style for their own benifit, all the while completely alienating their fans.
