after watching mgs play over the recent weeks, i have noticed the firsts team to be considerably soft. this is true for players such as mclardy, armstrong, webb and cumbrae, who all sit behind the play and look to recieve the ball, rather then playing hard.

mgs are clearly a soft team and that is why they wont be a force ths year

i think the lack of replies signifies how wrong you are. don't go abusing guys behind the anonimity of a computer screen. if you were at the cordner-eggleston game there is no way you could have classified any of those players as soft. case closed

i played in the cordnor eggleston cup and i dont believe melbourne grammer are soft in terms on their attack on the ball. however, they are soft in other ways because so many of them stand 20m out the back or side and wait for the easy ball, they cheat

u r the biggest tool ever. Obviously your oberved this from the bench. U cant possibly have more than 2/3 guys from the one team at the one contest. MGS are not cheats just that they are not stupid and dont have 18 nuffs going for the ball at once. Smart footballers. I cant beleive u could make a attack at Webb he is one of the hard men of the APS and should be fierd by all. Its easy for u to say that now after the game u pussy

Clearly you are all just arking up, looking for a reaction.

no charlie, i just got sick of melb grammer peeling off, getting cheap, easy kicks.
but doesnt matter now. Scotch won, albeit by only 21 points which was very dissapointing

If we have players who win the ball in tight and get it to these people getting "cheap kicks", then isn't that more of a tactic rather than being soft? These people get the ball too and you have acknowledged that by saying they get kicks..

Clearly you haven't thought about this very well.....you literally do not have an argument. I'm sure you will have some smart arse response. It doesn't bother me what you think about me, I just want to play football

mate its just those players are soft in general, i mean you have to get players like Shaw, all credit to him, to work hard and give it to these players that claim the rewards. i think these players should not play flashy and all this s*it they should just give all the credit to Shaw the only player than put his head over the ball for the team.

Whatever mate, top effort now having a crack at me....game was last friday

u r so wrong its funny. have a look at the way MGS played on friday, theres a DVD. There was not one play that didnt show 100% commitment. stop making these comments that are obviusly based on our stereotypical bullshit that we are soft rich boys. When u r just the same. New season stop making old statements.

mate im making these comments from this season and this game. not from other seasons. 100% committment is not the same as head over the ball. some people can be 100% committed and there game doesnt allow them to put that head over the ball and be strong while in a dangerous position, one problem is that MGS have to many of them

thefinalsay you are spot on. i've seen that dvd and all the mgs boys go in hard right from the first bounce. one simply couldn't fault the committment or will to win of the playing group. thefinalsay is a fine mgs boy and a very fine 1st XVIII footballer

Well what do you define as being 100% committed...? Wouldn't that include putting your head over the ball?

boys, i dont go to grammar, but i have seen the way these boys play...they have got some of the hardest ball getters in the comp, when you have got players like macciolli and shaw breaking packs the ball gets spilled out to the recievers who create run for the team...i mean you dont all see nick dal santo crashing packs, the luke balls, brendon goddards and lenny hayes' go in and get the ball then feed it out to the dal santo's and the jason grams...

mate, im arguing that there are more ppl wiling to put their head over the ball in other sides, mgs have more people sifting out the back waiting for the easy kicks and taking all the reward and then they go round lookin like they just broke through a Jonno brown tackle. think there tough stuff when they just do the easy work. more reward needs to go to the harder players

And it did last year, Charles Shaw coming second in the MGS best and fairest behind the best player in the league by a country mile tom hawkins.

yes but from what i heard by the melbourne grammer parents where just paying him out from start to finish. and some of the mgs crowd shared the same opinion. and i disagree that hawkins was the best in the comp. probably had the most talent but didnt perform as well as he could.

well i heard different and give me one more name that constantly puts his head over the ball and gets alot of credit

obviously no credit given cause i dont even know who the kid is, did he play? shows what these players get, whereas the outsiders get all the glory from mgs

Charlie C.S , arguably one of the best players onthe ground commits 100% every time

haha dont even start me on that. as soon as something gets tough u see him running the other way. tough and cumbrae dont go in the same sentence.

#1 - everyone loves Shawy, champion of the school.
#2 - you don't go to the school, so how would you even know?
#3 - you don't know Hayesy because you have no knowledge of APS football
#4 - Hawkins was the most dominant player in the APS last year but would often have to play on 2 or 3 opponents
#5 - your a tool
#6 - You have no respect on bigfooty because you won't reveal yourself and are making statements just to start a war of words
#7 - if you have such a big problem with me then why didn't you have a go at me during the match, instead of leaving to after the match has been played and doing it on bigfooty

mate because for some reason u seemed to be away from where i was. getting a little annoyed ey mate! calm down, u just need to realise that you are soft and you need to harden the **** up. then maybe ull demand some respect but till then goodnight my young puppet.
p.s. i have more knowledge on APS football than you ever will
