How ****ing brilliant are these?

Had about 10 packets of these in the past 5 days.

I use the soy sauce, chilli sauce and seasoning powder and throw the fried onion/oil out.

Anyone else eat these religiously?

LOL in my younger days when I was renting I used to live of these from time to time.

Pro-Tip: Head to a specialty Asian shop and buy an entire box, rather than individual packets.

You can make a tasty soup with mi goreng.

Need 2 packets. Boil water with noodles and corn/peas/onion.Take the noodles out when ready with some tongs into a bowl. Pour in as much of the water as you need then ad the flavours into the bowl and stir.

I can't believe how expensive these things are.

In the US you can easily get packs of ramen noodles, mi goreng, etc, etc. for 20 cents a piece or a little over.

Lolwut?

You can usually get a 5 pack of Mi Goreng for less than $2 at most supermarkets. Hardly a massive outlay.

Like I said above, find an asian shop and you can get a box of 40 for $8

Comes to 20c a pack

Really? They're cheaper than the Maggi Two minute noodles?

Nice. I took one look at those in the shops and the packs in those come out to 80+ cents a pack.

40 cents a pack is pretty good for Mi Goreng in Australia. I'll have to check it out next time I go!

I refuse to pay four times for a product that I can buy elsewhere at the old price.

Never realised they were ever any dearer than the price I stated

No.... What I meant was the last time I looked for something similar was the Magii 2-min noodles. Saw them for like 80 cents per pack in a multipack and it was as cheap as they go here - in the US the same exact thing is 20 cents a pack.

If the Mi Goreng is actually cheaper - 40 cents a pack then that's pretty good and I'd buy some at that price, but 80 cents a pack for 2 min noodles when I'm used to paying 20 cents is just NOT on.

The box of 40's you buy in Asian shops for $8 is an illegal and prohibited import. In the top right hand corner you will find written (in Indonesian) with added vitamin A, B etc etc. It is illegal to add vitamins into food products in Australia but many 3rd world countries allow this in order to increase the health of the population. The stock you buy at places like Coles etc which costs more come in a box of 30 and is made at a seperate facility to a customised recipe which is compliant with Australian regulations. This is why it cost more. The different carton sizes are done on purpose to allow for the identification of the illegal product in the Australian market. When Costco first opened they stocked the 40 pack which they were buying off a local wholesaler but had to pull the product when they found out it was illegal.

Just finished some Mi Goreng for lunch, walk into study, go onto lifestyle & the first thing I see is a thread.

:thumbsu:

If you want to make them even better (if you can be bothered because the whole point of these things is they taste great & take no time or effort to make) beat an egg fry it up then shred it in the noodles, also add some spring onion. Makes it a bit more of a meal, taste good too.

Went and bought another box yesterday

50 in the box for $12, comes at 0.24c each

I eat 2 packs in one go so that's 48c a meal :thumbsu:
