Teams Miami Dolphins - The Fins

The fins are so close to the playoffs they can almost touch it. i have only seen them play 1 playoff game back in 2008.

Though the 2013 season still haunts me only had to beat either the bills or jets in the final 2 weeks and choked and dont think they scored a touchdown across the 2 matches.

Hoping they dont stuff it up this time

Hopefully we were the final straw that gets Rex Ryan the sack. w***er!!

Come on chiefs

Speaking Monday, Dolphins coach Adam Gase hinted he was unlikely to rest his starters against the Patriots.

The Dolphins have clinched a playoff spot, but there's a scenario where they improve to the No. 5 seed and head to Houston instead of Pittsburgh. The benefits of that are self explanatory. That being said, Jay Ajayi banged his shoulder on Christmas Eve, and could benefit from a lighter workload. DeVante Parker has also been playing at seemingly less than 100 percent. Gase's words may not end up being a blanket statement.

ESPN's Jeff Darlington reports the Dolphins haven't ruled out season-ending surgery for Ryan Tannehill (knee).

Tannehill avoided "full tears" on Thursday's practice fall, but team officials haven't ruled out "a procedure that would fully repair" the ACL and MCL Tannehill partially tore last December. The team is still awaiting further test results. It's possible Tannehill and the Dolphins won't fully trust his troublesome left knee until it has been surgically repaired.

Wellp, gonna be (another) shitty season to be Dolphins fan!!

Just take your medicine Tanny and have the surgery. Come back for next season.

Will be interesting what happens now. Does Moore get the starting gig? Kap? Cutler?

It's going to be interesting to watch this one.

For those that don't rate Tannehill, it's going to be interesting to see what the much maligned Cutler can do reunited with Gase, but still starting a little behind the 8-ball.

People on twitter when the news broke were glad he was injured o_O

Will be an interesting year no doubt.

Jay Cutler’s base salary is a bargain for Miami

New Dolphins quarterback Jay Cutler reportedly will have a $10 million base salary for 2017, plus incentives. Setting aside the incentives (the triggers and the amounts are currently unknown), the contract is a bargain for Miami.

Twenty-two starters will make more than $10 million this year, with a $5 million gap between Cutler and No. 22: New Bears quarterback Mike Glennon.

Only two projected Week One starters not operating on slotted rookie deals will make less than Cutler this year: Brian Hoyer ($6 million) and Josh McCown ($6 million).

With Cutler clearly the best available option, he arguably could have pushed for more. The Dolphins found a way to get him to agree to play for very low-end starter money. Which is the silver lining in the sh-tstorm the descended on South Florida when Ryan Tannehill‘s knee buckled on Thursday.

The incentives will tell more of the story. But Cutler could have driven a harder bargain, if he’d wanted to. The fact that he’s returning for less than he could have gotten suggests that he realizes the opportunity he now has to fight for his first postseason berth since his second season in Chicago, seven long years ago.

Jarvis Landry's ex-girlfriend has denied he committed domestic battery against her.

Estrella Cerqueira says someone other than her called police to their residence in March. According to her, there was no physical contact, and charges were not filed. Cerqueira does speak of an ongoing "civil family court case" where "emotions are high." We'd say Landry is likely out of the woods from an NFL perspective, but there's no telling with the league and these cases.

Andy Slater of WINZ reports Jarvis Landry is under investigation for battery.

Slater reports the incident involves Landry's girlfriend, who is also the mother of his child, although she reportedly has not been cooperating with police. Slater reports the Fort Lauderdale police department has forwarded the case to the State Attorney's office, but a decision on possible charges is not expected this week. Dolphins coach Adam Gase said the team is aware of the investigation.

NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reports Jay Cutler's physical with the Dolphins raised "no concerns" about his surgically repaired shoulder.

Cutler had the surgery all the way back in December. The Dolphins never showed any concern about Cutler's shoulder, and by all accounts he passed his physical with flying colors. Cutler will be under center Week 1 versus Tampa Bay.

Has megaton been offered a contract yet? He was floating around this week and wearing Dolphins gear, so surely only a matter of time before he is on the the receiving end of cutler's rocket arm!
