Wade has said several times that he REALLY REALLY doesn't want to be the one taking charge of our offence next season... (Meaning been the playmaker and distributing, pretty much taking the role of a PG)

pretty much leaning me more towards wanting Quinn as Starter. At least he's more 'levelled out' and more useful than Banks [and can distribute]. Whatever keeps Wade Happy... I'm all for!! Cause we can't afford to loose him in any situation.

I'd say Marion and to a lesser extend yet still prominent Beasley and Haslem will do some scoring. We have solid reserves (Wright/Blount etc) that can contribute as well. To score 100 points we don't need Wade to drop 40, that I would have thought is obvious. I also would have thought it was obvious defence is a bigger weakness than our offence...

Latest news is ex-Clipper, 6"7' PG, Shaun Livingston has had is work out with the Timberwolves. After the workout, the Timberwolves said that they expect him to sign with the Heat regardless.

Well Livingston obviously has a truck load of talent but who knows if he can recover from that shocking injury.

If he can get back on the court and continue to improve he could be a handy pick up.

After his work out with the Heat, Riley said how impressed he was with his recovery and that he moved really well. But yeah, we can only wait and see.

Looks like he will be signed soon. Probably tomorrow. Which means the Heat is going to trade 1 or 2 players away for a draft pick. Looks like Cook or Wright.

I hope it's Wright. I think Cook will go well off the bench for us and give us some instant offense however Wright is a pretty good rebounder and has his good games.

Lost the first pre season game to the Pistons in OT, 91-95.

Beasley came off the bench for 16 points and 6 boards in 20 mins. 13 points in the 3rd.

Play the Nets in Paris next.

We'll smash the NETS....

All the main players did hardly anything... Wade just dished off the ball most the time. Marion just racked up the boards. Haslem, Jones and Wright didn't play. Cook puts up a hell of a lot of 3 pointers, missed them though. Beasley scored 16 points off 20 minutes, got 6 boards and only 2 turnovers.

Final----------1----2----3----4----OT---T
Detroit (1-0)--20---22---22---22---9----95
Miami (0-1)---18---25---17---26----5----91

Edged out by the Nets 100-98 in OT (again).

of note -

Beasley - 21 points and 7 boards in 16 mins.
D-Wade - 21 points, 5 boards, 3 assists and 2 steals in 9 (!) mins.

My thoughts on the game:

-Dwyane Wade is a superstar. He is so hard to guard, they try and block the lane or double team him and he can just dish it off or his man tries to block his space and just hits the jump shot. He has improved in his jump shooting and 3 point shooting and is gonna get harder to guard. He also played 21 minutes, not 9.

-Michael Beasley is a natural scorer and won't have a problem on offense. I thought he looked out of place at the start of the game in defense but placed better throughout the game. He also has pretty good hustle and got 7 rebounds which 5 of them were offensive. I'm so glad we picked him up in the draft. Minor problem is he keeps shooting three's, stay in the key!

-Anthony got 5 points, 6 rebounds and 3 blocks in 13 minutes. I think next game he should get more gametime to see how he goes cause he is getting better and could possibly start for us sometime during the season. He will be fighting it out with Blount imo.

-Banks played pretty good aswell. He got 6 rebounds, 7 assists and 9 points. 6 turnovers was a worry but it's pre-season so you get that. Chalmers played poor i thought and i think it will be between Quinn and Banks for starter, though it's only the second game in pre-season so things can change.

Joel Anthony for Centre...

Magloire is just dogs sh1t, Blount can't play any type of defencive role at all. (Good on the offencive end though:thumbsu:)

Joel Anthony is a very good on body player, he gets those hard balls and makes sure no ball that goes past him gets into the net. Seems to be the only solid (Consistant) contributer ATM for the centre position, there have been big raps by coach Spo and pat riley about this guy so I say why not. Give the guy some decent coart time at least.

Getting onto another matter, Banks definitely shouldn't start as PG. Way too many turnovers, I know Spo is trying to build some confidence in the guy on the offencive end but I really think it'd be better if Quinn was starter till at least Livingston is fit enough to take up the position himself.

We have a very messy roster to sum it all up.

We're talking about months with Livingston, not weeks I feel. If he gets on the court before christmas it's a bonus. Banks had 6 turnovers, Harris had 5. Banks hasn't played alot of ball over the last 18 months, give him some time. I think he showed some amazing signs today. I agree he's not in Miami's long term plans, but while he's here, and we push for the post-season, give him some credit and game time. The only way he's trade value will go up is if he gets some minutes...
