Fair comment. But now is the time if he is going to get it into his repertoire. How many big key forwards have great defensive pressure? josh Kennedy maybe. so a bit of realism here would not go astray.

Wrecking Ball* took out 2 melbourne players plus Fyfe in 1 contest -.-You have a guy named Apeness , and you want to call him the Bowlin' Ball......?
Yeah I really wish people would stop going on about forward pressure as if its the only thing forwards do.How many big key forwards have great defensive pressure? josh Kennedy maybe. so a bit of realism here would not go astray.

Yeah. And at this very early stage of his career, providing a contest that leads the opposition key defenders to the ball rather than them zoning off to take intercept marks is a massive positive.Taking a mark and kicking a bag of goals is the forward pressure we want from him.
Super impressed by his debut! Sounds like his performances at peel earned him the call up and he certainly showed what potential he has. Imagine how hard he's going to tackle when he's no longer a skinny kid
If he was involved in elite sport as a junior it's probably pretty reasonable. Rugby also has a bit more of a focus on strength rather than running ability than AFL too. He's at least a few years away from peak AFL condition, but, he definitely appears to be a man child. A bit like Johnno Brown was. Time will tell of course if his football ability is in the same park though. How much weight is in the core? When he can plant his feet and be unable to be shifted then he is peak weight.
Probably not a lot.How much weight is in the core? When he can plant his feet and be unable to be shifted then he is peak weight.
he weighs 101 kg and has a background in rugby union, playing in a development squad for the Melbourne rebels.
Skinny kid is not an appropriate description.
He looks likely, but it's a bit much to expect to dominate in a crowded forward line - hopefully he will get some more opportunities, he doesn't look a complete natural, so it might take a while.
Playing key forward is one of the hardest positions on the ground.
Ask matt jones how he feels today. The kid is already crashing packs.Give him another year. Once he's crashing packs with force he'll make defenders think twice about crowding his space!

Not dominant by any means but a ton of aggression and the frame to suit.
As I've been saying, at 199cm I think he'll play closer to 110kg than 100. Once he's up at that weight range he will be a monster.

Sounds a bit too Mylie Cyrus like - I think I'll stick with Magilla.Wrecking Ball* took out 2 melbourne players plus Fyfe in 1 contest -.-
Full replay is available for free on the AFL website.Anyone got any footage of king f&*ing "KONG" from the first half, was attending a bucks & missed the action.
Bit like Pav. Probably needs to maintain his current weight and just look at reducing body fat.Was in an unusual position compared to other draftees... came in having to drop weight as his body was set up for rugby. Needed to drop weight to help him handle the running loads.
Nice problem to have. Not a hard gainer, that's for sure. Don't think him stacking on too much weight too quickly will be helpful as it'll affect his tank. But should be able to put on the weight that he wants.
