I thought he had a great game today for a 2nd gamer against some stiff competition. Shame he didn't make it onto the scoreboard though. He's shown he has the toughness and almost the tank for AFL footy. And his decision making is pretty impressive. Hopefully he stays in the side a bit longer, especially considering we should be losing one of our forwards next week (dammit ballas)

I was pretty impressed watching him live today. He hits the packs bloody hard and makes a contest, which is far more than Taberner gives us. No shortage of aggression once the ball hits the ground either.

He also enabled Pav to compete one-out instead of having two key defenders swamp him at every contest. I'd keep him in the team just for that.

Speaking of Pav - if the umps gave him half the frees for the same stuff they pay against him he'd kick 6 goals a week.

I'm counting down till Cometti works in [insert defenders name] is of in the pursuit of Appeness (pronounced like happiness).

Or when coming back from injury ....my appeness is slowly creeping back

He was gasping at times which is to be expected. Certainly plenty of room for improvement but he does look like he belongs. Doesn't look overawed nor makes many mistakes. Would like to see him keep his spot.

There have been a few times where the Ape has almost marked the footy inside 50 but had another Freo player spoil him!

Can see the boys really trying hard for him to get his first goal on the board. I'm pretty happy with him so far and in all honesty has shown so much more than Tabs. At one point, early on in the game, he was in the top 5 on the ground for tackles. Keen to see RTB persist with him.

I thought his decision making and hands were good at times . Natural traits that are harder to develop than some others KPF's require.
Got a bit to work with- can't wait to what he's doing in 2/3 years

2-3 years is the key. We really need to understand that he's a first year player and allow him to develop with time.

In 2 years Taberner can be the hit up forward and Apeness the stay at home big bodied bustling type. Ballas and Walter still at their feet.

as opposed to many from wc who pursue a penis :p
either as something they don't have
or what they have, but still desire.
ah, 4get it
gay jokes aren't cool
as a hetero guy I always wanted more gays
why?
less competition, man
of course
think about it
& if a gay happens to like you?
say thanks 4 the compliment :)
sorry 4 the rant.
just heard about the BT comments.
btw, don't think he is a homophobe, just a crap commentator & made a bad joke
sorry 4 the ramle
2nd bottle of wine is almost done :drunk:
looks like song lyrics :rainbow:

Watched on TV so can't talk about his work off the ball.
- He managed to make it to most contests to make an attempt.
- Didn't look dangerous at any point during the game because he didn't seem to be leading up trying to present as a target.
- Great hand pass to Subes for his second goal.
- Pav was left 1 on 1 all day it seemed. Was this a result of them having to cover for the second KPF or just poor coaching on their behalf.
- Overall while I was disappointed that he didn't look dangerous himself I'm sure Ross will be happy. He provided a contest and freed up Pav which is all I can imagine was asked off him.

To those at the game, did it look like he was trying to present as a target in free space at all or was he just in the thick of where ever the pack formed?

There was a couple of times in front of me when he tried to lead up the wing but was ignored at first. So then he'd double back and motion over his head, resulting in a slow looping kick that meant a pack had formed on top of him by the time the ball got there.

To be fair to the kicker he probably had less than a metre on his man on those leads, though they were the sort that would probably have been honoured had it been Pav.

My thoughts are that he was playing his man a lot - rather than trying to get the ball. One of the times he really went for the grab (versus grappling with his opposition) Sandi came over the top and spoiled.

Not a bad game - I think he'll be a beast in a couple of years.

Liked the look of his game.

Saw him on a number of leads that I thought could be honoured but weren't. And I was hoping to see him get a few more touches and a shot or two.
If I had to pick either him or Tab's i would find it hard. They bring different things. Tabs will go an get a ball from half back and seems to run out a game better but for an ability to bust a pack and draw a tag I would take Apeness. Both need work but I am happy to have both of them in the list and believe that they will deliver for us int eh medium to long term.
