Playing today, with Pav ommitted.
Obviously more attention going to be on Morabito, but ill be paying close attention.
Deserves the chance and lets hope he makes himself hard to drop.

Honestly, I see him playing a very good game. Hopefully he kicks at least 2 or 3 goals.

Moves well and has been able to bring the ball to ground a couple times which we've been horribly lacking

Promising start

hmmm, pretty good first showing but i think that game showed our lack of attacking/marking options inside 50 without pavlich or another, Hawthorn / Sydney will chop us if our forwards arnt on ball/on field..

may be a pessimistic bastard, but i thought that game was scary and showed how far off we are compared to the better teams when in transition

alot of work to do for young fella, would prefer to see Gumby get a run and let this young man smash 'apple power bars' and lift up heavy things for a while

It's hard to see Gumbleton get a game over Apeness at this stage. Gumby is struggling for Peel.

Which better teams would they be? The one which has now lost two in a row to bottom 8 sides at their "portress" or the one that just got beaten by the team that lost to Brisbane the week prior? In terms of form, Sydney and Freo are right up there.

Super impressed by his debut! Sounds like his performances at peel earned him the call up and he certainly showed what potential he has. Imagine how hard he's going to tackle when he's no longer a skinny kid. I'd like to see him play next week too, try & get some match fitness into him in case we need him later, or in case he turns into a superstar!

I was very happy with what I saw from the young Apeman, presented well as a target and as giving great effort. Bit more bulk and tank with another preseason and he will start to clunk some of the ones he was almost getting tonight. Moves really well for a 199cm kid - tippet like. He and Taberner will be a good combination for Freo. Would like to see one of them get another game up forward next week against GWS for the experience even if Pav is ok to play.

Gee Apeness lays a mean tackle!
He bowled over a group of 2 Dees players & Fyfe like skittles.
Some real potential & strength there.
He was originally in the rugby u18 squad think it was the redbacks but he gave it up to come play footy... he packs a mean tackle boy oh boy wowee
