He looked out on his feet towards the latter stages of the first (shows you the step up in game pace from WAFL to AFL), which affected his pace off the mark and kicking power....still a solid first game back from him.

Great work ethic but i can see why he was initially overlooked by the AFL- his kicking seems terrible.

great first up effort.

just a really likeable guy.

Had huge respect for him the day he tried to stand back up after that injury.

Wants it so bad - lots of kids should be taking tips on how much he wants to succeed.

Nothing better than a mentally tough competitor

haha im guessing you didn't watch one of his first 13 games.

The 13 games where he posted 64.7% kicking efficiency? Hardly anything to write home about.

Was solid today, and tried hard with his side's back against the wall, but looked a little slow at times in both movement and thinking, and his kicking let him down. To be expected after such a long layoff though. Should get back to his best soon enough.

Was a bit slow at times but that's to be expected when you have been out of the game for a year. Melbourne was very fast today! Lacked confidence kicking at goal but again, that will come back. Overall a very pleasing return.

F'n love this guy. What a fighter!!!!!!!!!!:thumbsu::thumbsu:

Wish we had him.

Ball butcher of the highest order

The 'feel good' aspect to his story shouldn't override the fact that he is no different to the average one-paced midfielder in your side with poor disposal

Was quite impressed with him today. Popped up everywhere, looked quite dangerous.

Like Robert Harvey, James McDonald, etc he's willing to run hard all day and just has to succeed, even if he isn't the most talented player. Does brilliantly on his day, and when he has some help from his teammates.

Great return. Go Micky B.

The disposal efficiency will return in no time. The guy is just such a class act and such a skillful footballer. It's a shame he won't have Mundy beside him for a while. He'll have to put up with battling away with not so super Pav.

Can't wait to see him play against Palmer, he owes him.

Lol - have you watched him play flog?

52% efficiency today and was no better last year :o

Yes, ive watched every afl game hes ever played, have you? everyone knows that disposal accuracy stat is a pile of shit. Shannon Hurn went at 68% today so i suppose he is a ball butcher as well, imagine what his kicking would be like after 12 months off with a broken leg.

Yeah which was why he was amongst the leaders in the brownlow medal until his injury.

You are an absolute nuffy- bit rich coming from you considering the kicking efficiency of some of the players on your list. You'd be the only bloke (or girl?) that i know not to rate him

BOG for fremantle today although that isnt saying much considering the effort they put out today

Thought Fyfe, Griffin and Ibbotson all had a better game than Barlow myself. Apart from that quartet, there was probably only a couple of others who could say they performed decently though.

How's Paddy "greatest player in the league" Dangerfield doing?

For that matter, didn't you predict Hams would be better than Barlow? Or was it Strijk? Where are those blokes?

You're a cretin.

LOL. Those who just so happen to be the top three in CD rankings. Bet you didn't even watch the game, did ya Wallsy?

Stagnating under a shit coach - still will be a gun

Would take Hams over Barlow, no idea why he can't crack a game

Nice of you to look my threads up...stalker much? :o

I did watch it, as I watch most games each week. Might have been flicking over to the Carlton-Sydney game periodically towards the end of this game, but I definitely watched it. If the stats confirm my assertions, so be it.

Barlow got a lot of the ball, but didn't use it particularly well, got caught flat-footed a number of times, and generally looked a step slow. That's why I didn't rate his game as highly as the others.

He's a troll. And a very ungracious one.
Barlow is a star, and just a great bloke. The only good thing about today, other than the continued wonder of Nathan Fyfe's second year.
