Michael Hurley vs Cale Hooker

These two are gun All-Australian defenders. Both probably in the top 5 in the competition based on last year's formlines. Both can play forward but which one of them do you think is better?

Hurley is a slightly better defender, but Hooker is a better swing man.

Both are guns, but if they were the same age I would rather Hooker. Both are very good defenders, Hurley is a handy forward but Hooker is comfortably better as a forward.

Hurley is the better user of the ball, especially when the opposite foot is factored in. It's very close but that sways the decision for me.

They are both as good as each other, both have different strengths.
The loyalty Hooker has shown to the Essendon footy club just shows what a quality bloke he is.

Hooker's marking ability is stronger than Hurley's, and he reads the play better.
Hurley is a 50m penetrating kick off both feet, and is ultra aggressive.

Hurley is better 1-on-1, Hooker makes the backline function better as a group.
