Hope so. The money being talked about for him is ridiculous.
Reid has him covered in every area. We just can't keep him on the park.
Next year we will have Reid, Brown, Frost & Keeffe as tall defenders.
We don't need to spend $900,000 a year on another one.
I'd rather split that kind of money on areas we really need to bolster.
Like a fast crumbing forward ( Charlie Cameron type) for one.
We also need more line breaking pace to carry the ball more.
Let some other team pay overs for him or hope he stays at the bombers.

Would love to have him. Let's face it he would be a massive upgrade on what we have back there. But would never pay $900k for him if that's the asking price. Tops would be $600k.

IMO, on a long term back ended deal $900k with the impending CBA is chicken feed for the 25yo reigning AA CHB. The bloke's a 2011 Reid level gun without the injuries literally exactly what we need.

The flow on effect is that is it smoothes the path for us to allow Cloke to walk if he chooses.

That's what I was told. Going nowhere. Was told during the Richmond game. Obviously things can change, maybe a club comes out and throws a stupid amount of money at him that he can't refuse a la Ablett/Franklin, but I doubt it.

Hurley is from the Rosanna area, just down the road from me, a guy I'm good mates with (posts on BigFooty too, won't give his username) is part of Hurley's circle of mates. All from that area. Once all this stuff went down, I had been asking him for AGES to toalk to Hurley and ask if he's leaving (obviously we want him at Collingwood if possible and my mate wants him at Richmond).

At first he told me he wasn't going to bust his balls because it was all still fresh and didn't want to compound further.

Then at the Richmond game I asked him if he could prod Hurley and he then told me he had already asked him and said he was staying. As I said, just relaying what I was told. Said he wanted to stay loyal to the club because they had been good to him throughout everything.

Wouldn't think he'd leave the Bombers either but if he did then you'd imagine they'd go pretty hard at him, he's a quality player and there's not a lot of KPP available for nothing but salary.

Doubt he'll leave the Bumbers but would certainly be a handy acquisition. Players don't seem to worry about the salaries of their team mates so not sure why we should.
