I've defended him in the past, but he seriously must be close to getting dropped. I simply can't see how we would miss him, but if he hasn't been dropped by now then there is little chance of it ever happening.

With him in the backline, where any mistakes are so costly, anytime the play is in his vicinity I have to start praying that we can survive his bizarre style of "attacking" the contest. There is something about the way he floats around which fills me with a sense of panic and an impending f(^*%-up about to happen. Dodd-esque, but in a completely different way.

Pick the ****ING ball up you pathetic piece of SHIT, stop pointing, keep your feet and hit your targets.

Silvanghi now, please for the love of god.

I have no words to defend by buddy.... nothing... :(

Not good enough......

This is the time a buddy looks for positives.

As a long time non-supporter of MJ, I'd say "send him to the magoos," but we still need to have tall options come finals time, and MJ's best game is better than most, even though his worst is diabolical. If they do it right he'll come back confident, but do it wrong and our tall option list gets shorter with many untested.

He fumbled a few last night but wasn't alone or the worst. He destroyed the ball in the air defensively, so at least he got into the contests.

According to some it's Mark Harvey's fault Johno is turning into a spud. Something to do with corporate man management or the like.

Some doctor examine him for a nerve palsy. His hands are so weak its incredible. Would be hilarious if he had a median nerve palsy or similar which was effecting his play.

In his defence, when the game was there to be won, dying stages of the game, he won a 1 on 1 contest, ran up to half forward and delivered deep inside 50. We subsequently went onto score which put us in front.

Gotta say it was one of his better games this year (but still atleast 5 clangers/brain fades that I noticed) - though he remains at best in the bottom 33% of the team for contribution. In the dying stages I was nervous as hell thinking it would probably be him that $%^%$s it up and gifts the dogs a win.

He has very limited upper body strength - can't understand why - he's been in the program a long time now. We all know his athletic and skill talents - he just never gives as much as the rest of the team in heart.

Any other top 8 team he would have been dropped weeks ago, but we have replacement issues. He either has form issues (unlikely as half his disposals/actions are quite good) or is taking advantage of his "automatic" selection and being a passenger. Surely they can all see he is riding on the tails of the entire team.

Time we all referred to him as Mr 33% - there's no way he contributes more given his known talents and abilities.

Dropping him doesn't mean he'll never get back. We are stronger with him than without him if he's at his best, no doubt, but we need to get him up. A week or three in the WAFL early in the season might do him some good.

The dude is taking the piss.

Are you kidding me?
If he didn't not screw it up at the end of the game he'd have done next to nothing all day.

Yep, you're right - but it still is one of his better games this year - which means he has been absolutely woeful so far this year.

He actually made less mistakes this game than the others, but he contributes next to nothing - no heart, no soul.

Personally I'd tell him straight to either contribute every fckn week as we know he can or he's getting traded out - Freo should have no time for passengers. Its not like he's a rookie getting his first taste of AFL - he's been in the system for fckn years and still can't get his attitude/heart right.

Would have been great tradebait a year or two ago. I'm not sure if other teams have cottoned on to his shortcomings. I wonder what he'd be worth these days.

Another ho-hum effort from a player that will never be dropped.

The thing that will save him is players like Roberton (Who should be persisted with over Johnson) will get dropped first.

I really hope that when Silvagni is finally fit he'll come in for Johnson instead of Roberton.

But if he keeps Silvagni out of the team and continues to play this way...well someone may have to take matters into their own hands, Lee Harvey Oswald style.

Johnsons Role? What is Johnsons role?

There, my son, you have captured the single question that best encapsulates the wondrous veil of purple pondering that occurs every round of every season for the last 7 years.

So it is safe to say you don't know what Johnson's role is. So if you don't know the role how are you expected to drop him... Again who comes in for him.

Not that forcing the selectors into changes is ever the ethical/moral (or legal) way, but a fast stomping rake of a boot to the back of Mr 33% knee by someone at a nightclub (or northbridge alley) may be a solution, and not quite so permanent. In jest of course ;)

most of you were probobly calling for mundies head 3 years ago and calling him a lazy bastard
mj was a solid contributer last night ,if you are going to drop everyone who fumbled the ball last night ,then have fun travelling to the mcg in round 7 with the wafl players ,the caoching staff and the medicos take byron clanger with you too.
watch the replay as well instead of just swimming with the tide
PATHETIC whingers, you were probobly in the crowd last year at the docklands centre in melbourne after the great win v the blues and actually booed adam mcphee when he got up to say a few words at the post match function. a truly cringeworthy moment
wake up people we are a good team i know through the years of shit it was good to come on here and let off steam ,i was among the many to get barred from dockerland but at the moment i'm enjoying watching a good freo team.
but according to you lot you could do a better job than harv's
w***ers

The following groups of people have no idea about everything in general and football in particular:
1. Those who think MJ should be dropped.
2. Those who love navy blue jumpers with searjeant stripes on the front.
3. Those who want the new ground to be sited at Burswood.
Does that include everyone but me?

That's a great rant, one of the better ones I've seen for a while I'll admit, but it doesn't do much to refute the general consensus that MJ was ****ing dire.

The following groups of people have proven to be smarter than me about everything in general and football in particular:
1. Those who think MJ should be dropped.
2. Those who love navy blue jumpers with searjeant stripes on the front.
3. Those who want the new ground to be sited at Burswood.

Thanks for the honesty mate.

If you are referring to me - you're totally wrong. Never ever boo one of our players at a match - totally wrong and a dog act. But this is a footy forum and discussing players performances is a very large part of the whole purpose of this site - are you saying only praise and never criticise a player? Hmmmmm can't take criticism ehh? You are onbviously an accepter of mediocrity - does your whole life reflect this?

As for McPhee - there were very valid reasons for his lack of form and purpose at the start of 2010 - he was at a new club finding his feet and had a terrible pre-season. There is no comparison with Mr 33% who has had a great pre-season and yet can't deliver much of a positive contribution (as to playing one player down) that we know he can - it is purely mental and character driven - that is obvious to all.

As for Harves playing him, yes many supporters are peeved off. Harves is no messiah, he is a great coach that has taken us a long way but you are a fool if you think every decision he makes is faultless. In life you find there are many people that need micro-managing to get them to perform. There comes a time when the effort required to try to get them to perform is costing you in so many other areas. I think Harves will be weighing that up now with Mr 33%.

rant was not aimed at you 2012
but since you deem it fit to judge my life as one of mediocrity on the basis of one post on big footy :-
may i say you must be an extremely astute judge of footy players if you use this sort of a benchmark to form all of your opinions.

Dockerland probably accommodates you better.

I think you should read my signature. You continually look quite the fool.
