It's not easy, but I would pick from:

Lower, Roberton, Pitt, Walters, Crowley, and Johnson/Kep

Pitt will probably be in and out of the team a bit. Lower, Kep and Walters would probably be the last dropped of that group if it was up to me.

Roberton probably first out

id keep lower in that side at all costs, he has been magnificent so far.

walters would be the first i would drop, probably MJ would be in the gun unless he puts a string of good games together. possibly roberton, although he would be unlucky. If pitt plays like he did on the weekend on the weekend, then he will not be out of the side at all this year. looks the goods

i think tendai will struggle to get into the side, people are forgetting he hasnt even played an afl game yet. a 10 week knee injury will mean his fitness will have suffered, the injury list may say he is out for 10, but it might take him 16 to get his fitness and form up to the level required to be selected.

sadly im beginning to suspect we wont see micky b at all this year. and even if he does get some game time, he will be brought in slowly through the wafl, and will need some excellent form to prove he is over his injury.

I like Ibbo, but on this board he was one of our most maligned players, everyone is talking as if he will come straight back in without wafl form. if he does that, and has a slow first game, everyone will quickly jump on the ibbo bashing bandwagon again.

Hayden i think will struggle to break back into the side. If tendai does actually come back ok, and build form enough to break into the side, then i think roger may have played his last game :( i cant see him displacing broughton or duffield.

so in saying all of that, if we get minimal injuries, im not sure our side will change that much from what we saw on the weekend. we dont seem to want to play anthony, and unless some one like crichton or michie knocks the door down with form i think we will make minimal changes.

healthy position for the club to be in with our depth at the moment :thumbsu:

Any definitive reason or just a hunch?

I think he'll be playing my mid-year, there's been nothing to the contrary saying otherwise. Wasn't he possibly to rejoin full training this week?

no definative reason. i think its a concern that for a month now he was meant to start training with the main group, and he hasnt... the pessimist in me says that maybe he just isnt recovering like they had hoped, maybe he is having muscular issues near the break, im not sure. i really hope im wrong

I thought the injury had healed fine, however he had muscle deficiency in areas (hip?). He has been doing a lot of running. Not sure how you can do that if you've got leg problems...

Then again only the medicos and Barlow know what's going on...

We will consider ourselves fortunate if any one of Barlow, Hayden or Mzungu play anything of a major role for us this season. Ibbo seems to be rated by the match committee so will probably resume as a regular soon. Silvagni will have to wait until one of the incumbent talls is injured. Anthony is probably too one dimensional to be considered for the time being. Clancee appears to be playing OK but lacks class. Griffen and Zac will have to wait until Sandi falls over - or goes blind in both eyes. Apart from Ibbo I would tip Crichton or Michie to be next in line.

This is pretty much what I think. It'll be a nice mid-season boost if it happens, but I won't be holding my breath.

Ultimately I think it will come down to Hayden or Mzungu, not both.

Some of the defensive work Ibbotson did last season was fantastic IMO. By the end of the season I thought he'd become a really solid player down back for us.

IMO a lot of what happens will depend on Silvagni. If he's able to force his way into the side (I'd say MJ is currently in his spot) then we don't necessarily rely on Kepler to play as the back-up ruckman. The pressure on Bradley would then be to hold his spot solely as a KP forward; that brings Anthony into the picture. (Note: When Barlow comes back and Pavlich moves forward, it opens the door for Clarke and Griffin. As the back-up ruck becomes more important in the job description, than the KPF aspect. Interesting times ahead.)

I'd have Crichton miles in front of Michie. Miles and miles. Michie's treating the WAFL like he would rather be anywhere else in the world but out there having a crack. Never a good sign. With Pearce playing well, JVB back there now, Schammer soon to return, Griffin, Clarke and Anthony playing well (basically all the more experienced campaigners) WAFL performances are going to become super important. If you want to play in the AFL you need to show something at WAFL level.

Viv played well on the weekend against my bulldogs. Couple that with the fact that he has to play at peel, with a complete group of new players. peel have only played 2 games, and one of them was poor, the other good

I'm talking about attitude, intensity and effort. Particularly in relation to the other AFL listed players down at Peel; yes, even those from WC.

well as i said, he played well on the weekend, no issue with his intensity, found the ball and used it well. and peel have only played 2 games. one good, one bad. Below are the stats for viv's game... very impressive, what it doesnt show there is the tackles count which with having the exact number i would say would have been up at around 6. chasing was regular and committed from what i could see. that to me says he had his head in the game and the attitude to back it up. The week before he was poor, probably got a talking to and backed it up with a very solid second round.... thats what being a young footballer is about. learning and improving

Any comments on Johno's performance today? Pish is the word that comes to mind. Soft as a marshmellow, sad very sad.

Does anyone know what his role was today?

Gave up at least 3 goals today I thought. Soft tackling, poor overhead marking and certainly didn't seem to be playing the sweeping loose man in the backline. Hurry back Silver and keep developing Sibbo???

he had a good game last week.

He is back in cruise control for the next 2-3 games then he will be ready to play again :(

Having protected species guaranteed games every week when they produce one acceptable game out of 3 (the two others being well below par) is just not how you build a winning team.

Cannot afford to have him play another passenger game against the dogs - it will cost us an expected close game.

Played back, I assume on the third tall since Grover and McPharlin have been going well.

MJ is basically in Silvagni's spot at the moment. At some point Harvey will have to make the call, but he can get away with putting it off at the moment. Kind of...

Definately, can't see a spot for MJ when Silvagni's fit and while Kepler's on fire. Infact I'd rather see Anthony given a game down back than Jonno on current form.
