Yeah i think I swore quite loudly when I saw him do that.
Newton is defintely worth leaving in the seniors. Melbourne in the past have dropped our kids too early (dunn, c. johnson etc etc) and wonder why they dont develop as quickly as they should. The same players who we used to slaughter against the hawks absolutely blew us out of the water today, cuz clarkson had the balls to continue to play them.
Along with 3/4 of the rest of the team.Newton = very slow.
Good point, too many kids are playing too much footy in Sandy. Get them up into the seniors. C Johnson, is a nice mover and kick on the run. We don't have many of his sort.
Yep I agree re Garland CFH - he definitely will be a good player - looks like a taller slender Whelan IMO
He may have pace but when he takes the next step (from Sandy to AFL) he struggles with the pace of the game and as a result his skills are very ordinary and his decision making is even worse.
If anyone can remember the round 1 game last year against St. Kilda is a prime example he fumbled the ball a lot and when he did have clean possession he turned it over.
You can't rib the young blokes when the "leaders" of the team are playing like shit and don't seem to care.
We could put carroll down forward, he always seems to be miles from his opponent

Gee, one game. Whose to say after 10 games, his confidence and decision making wouldn't have improved 10 folds. It is this kind of backward thinking that has been apart of the club since daniher reign. No wonder our kids fizzle out and die while the rest of the competition seem to have no trouble developing talent.
