I saw Rixy at the Kanye West gig at Rod Laver last Friday night with Nicky Dal, Jason Blake and some other bloke.

I recognised Rixy because he used to be at Richmond. He seemed quite intoxicated though, where the others weren't at all... indicating to me that he'd been dropped? I thought he had been but obviously not.

I still maintain that, as one of the fittest players on our list who was disciplined and rarely injured, he would be a serviceable CHB option and pinch hit ruckman. I am disappointed the club played him at FF almost every week at Casey rather than developing some cover down back for Goose and Max (desperately needed). We turned Sam F from a forward to a defender and could have "invested" in Rix more wisely.

Having said all this, I can't see him getting picked up.

I agree and I'd be very happy for Rix to get another chance (he never really got a chance with us, did he ?).

Just for you RichoRox ( he does too ) , I'm pretty sure Rix was never at Richmond. And Rix is currently de-listed but available in the pre-season draft.

I'm not having a go or anything, I'm just saying. The guy is a great bloke, I wish him all the best and hope he does get picked up again, especially by the Saints.

Voss has the right idea in that if either ruckman goes down they'll either have to play the great Tasmanian that is Bart McCulloch (cult hero material btw) or part timers and face getting killed in the ruck.

That said recruiting Rix for ruck stocks is like recruiting Carroll for back stocks, there has seriously gotta be better options out there. Jeff White maybe, or did he retire? Even Peter Street, at least he would win some hitouts.

Haha yeh but I'd take them both over Rix (no offence to the big fella). I think we can just be thankful our ruck stocks are finally looking alright at the Saints and it is other clubs taking hack ruckmen from us, not the other way round
