Welcome Michael

North Melbourne is delighted to announce Michael Tormey as its new General Manager of Digital Media and Communications.

A highly respected figure within the industry, Tormey brings a wealth of experience to the club which includes more than nine years in various roles at AFL Media, mostly as Editor but also stints as Head of News & Analysis and Digital Audience Engagement Manager.

North CEO, Ben Amarfio, said Tormey was a great fit with the Kangaroos.

“We’re thrilled to have Mick on board,” Amarfio said.

“His career has centred around consumer and content delivery, which is an area of focus for us as we rejuvenate our club brand and navigate our way through our current rebuild.

“Digital engagement is another critical part of our business and with Michael’s experience, he will enhance our work in this space and continue to ensure our supporters feel informed, entertained and connected to our club and remain a part of what we’re trying to achieve.

“A lifelong Roos’ fan, Mick understands and believes in what we are building at Arden Street, and we look forward to welcoming him to the team.”

Tormey will commence at Arden Street on Monday 23 August.

GR robbed again
Why do people keep saying this? Gr has an extraordinary skillset, but it's completely different to what is required in this role.

He totally deserves a great role, and he'd be a massive asset to the club, but this ain't it.

Well done to Mr Tormey, I remember in the 00's when we used to accuse him of being an undercover PR agent of the club!

Welcome Mick! Living the dream.

Yeah not sure if those GR comments are coming from ignorance of the role or if they are taking the p155 but either way, it's a bit disrespectful. Looking forward to seeing the contribution Mick Tormey can make to the club in an official capacity.
