actually I'm glad to see you recognise your betters.

one of the ways I can deduce your intelligence is from your writing style, sentence construction, analytical insight and the way you express your ideas.

that your insight is clumsy and not particularly well formed or expressed certainly leads me to believe you are of no more than ordinary intelligence.

that you think such things are mystery, and one would need to have a deep personal knowledge of you to be able to reason such things also speaks volumes. :)

All this coming from a person who doesn't have the basic intellect of using a capital letter at the start of each sentence. Clearly you are far from a Rhode Scholar. Now be gone and enjoy watching the old fart Crows slide down the ladder in 2008. :thumbsu:

It is called hyping up the rivalry between the two clubs to try and generate extra publicity for the game in the face of huge rugby league opposition across town.

And because he knews Pies fans will bite, yet again. :D

JF

But apparantly Vossy is the one who is as dumb as dog shit! :p

We all know why the Pies supporters were put on this earth... To entertain the rest of us at moments like this.

Now that is a false statement if I did see one........You gotta have teeth to actually bite back with! Thats something we all know that Collingwood Supporters don't have.:D:D:D:D .

Unless you include dentures as teeth.

Collingwood fans: Don't EVER use this bloke ----> :D as a Representative of how you feel it will only cause you false hope!!!!

Gee is it just me or does today's article about the Saints represent the turning over of a new page for Voss? Have a read of his other articles (usual 'refuse to tread on anyones toes' claptrap of players and recently retired players) and compare with today's:

"Too many St Kilda players want to be the star. Not enough want to be the player who contributes the most to the team cause and has the most influence on the team result."

Coming up next, Vossie actually points a finger rather than just directing a comment at a whole team ...... hopefully

He is a w***er, he treats his commentating job as a role to be over analytical for the average listeners as he tries to push his knowledge of the game ahead of everyone elses. He uses his job as a way to pump his own tyres up as he uses his over analyzing of the game as his coaching application for all coaches who will need a coach in the future. The way he rambles on bullshit he tends to make the most basic tactics seem like an attack formation from the russian submarines. He is a w***er, and comes across with the attitude that no one was a better player then Vossy, and no one knows more about football then Vossy. He has joined Rob Walls and Malcom Blight as the biggest ____witts in the "special" commentating roles.

I did not really find any basis for his finger pointing. He just says that too many St Kilda want to be the star. He does not provide any evidence at all.

It just seemed to me to be another article talking up his own achievments as Captain of the all powerful Lions of 2001-2003.

Arrogant much?

I completely agree with what Voss had to say in that article. The saints have not perfected unselfish play yet and it is leading to their own downfall.

As a long term Saints supporter I don't have any problem with M Voss's latest article. Hope the saints read it. It might stir them up.

Maybe it demonstrates how well he can evaluate a weakness and shows that he could develop into a top coach

I actually couldn't think of one Saints player (apart from Milne who fits the bill as to what Voss was saying

While I agree with the spirit of the article, in that there are a number of Saints players who are selfish, and do not appear to play for the team (Nick Dal Santo comes to mind, although he made more of an effort last week), he certainly got his examples back to front!

He says the "Saints leaders" are basically not leading by example. Who does he mean by that? The leadership group, of which the captain and vice captain are the most influential members?

Well, they are, respectively, Nick Riewoldt and Lenny Hayes! Two players whose endeavour and unselfishness you cannot fault.

He then goes on to defend and praise Frasier Gehrig, who he holds up as a shining light of unselfishness and team-man-ship because he played as a decoy forward last week.

While Frasier may have done that, his opponent, in Matthew Scarlett, ran down the ground and did a fair bit of damage to the Saints. Frasier basically just took himself out of the game. Made no effort to keep Scarlett from having an impact.

Gehrig and Voss may be mates and drinking buddies, but that doesn't mean you can turn actual facts and real occurrences on their head, to defend your mate.

I have to say, I had a greater opinion of Michael Voss's footballing knowledge prior to his forays into the media.

I think the word selfish is misleading in this instance. One thing I mentioned at the game last week is that our players looked far to concerned with their direct opponent (especially in the backhalf), which meant that they didn't create nearly enough 2 on 1 contests and Voss's comparison with Kieran Jack against Kerr last week was very valid in my opinion. So from that aspect you could possibly call it 'selfish', but i don't believe the every Saints player wants to be a superstar comment.

:eek:I am surprised that this wasn't put up by a pies supporter, but you have to admit they haven't been the same since the Lions put them in their place , i think Voss was a brilliant player and a great captain. Bugger the Pies get over yourselves, boohoo, they should be winning now they finally got rid of the most overrated player of all time in Buckley.
Anyone read this?

If I was a Pies supporter I would be livid. Yeah the Lions had a great side but bringing up a GF performance from 5 years ago, rubbing the Pies nose in it and then saying "thats the reason they can't win" is garbage. Hopefully the Pies use this as ammo tonight.

Only on BigFooty would I read ignorant garbage like that.

You probably need a certain level of arrogance to achieve at the level that Voss did throughout his career.

However his article is a load of unreadable crap.

Agree mate. I don't so much agree with the title of the article but the Saints do need to play as a bloody cohesive unit to strike any fear into opposition & get runs on the board.

Saints midfielder Leigh Montagna revealed yesterday that exact topic had preoccupied the team earlier in the week.

"We'd actually discussed that issue during the weekand a few of us even made a joke that Vossy must have been sitting in our team meeting," Montagna told Channel 7's AFL Game Day program yesterday.

"It was pretty spot-on about what he was saying - basically we had a pretty deep conversation with the leadership group and the whole group . . . about what our mindset is like in regards to that selfishness aspect.
