I disagree. Malthouse’s motivation was wrong he wanted revenge over the Pies and Eddie for getting rid of him

Horse chose to leave to have a break just like Dimma did at the tigers. I believe Horse would have the same effect on our club as Dimma is having at the Suns.
The beauty is that the club has essentially 12 months to assess where things are at, and can take a more measured approach, with seemingly more possible options. Personally, I want Voss to succeed (not only for his sake, but all supporters). And it's only my opinion, but I don't think Voss has been backed just to keep the seat warm for 12 months. I also believe GW and others want Voss to succeed.

Couldn’t agree more.

If we let go of Voss, I'd want a new person who has never been a senior coach before.
I agree, I see nothing good in getting somebody like Longmire or Hinkley to coach the team. IMO, they are both done as senior coaches.

If this wasn't the case the decision to keep him would be seen to be extremely ill advised. Of cause they want him to succeed, it's the only explanation for the decision.

Unpopular view but IMO we would have been more successful (not necessarily won a flag but would have won more games) if we kept Malthouse to coach through the rebuild rather than enduring through Bolton, Teague and Voss years.

Yep unpopular view. Malthouse was in it for Malthouse. He did not have the commitment required and game was drifting past him at the same time.

Love Voss the bloke, still unconvinced re his coaching nous. Thinking a clear mandate and direction from Wright gives him a chance, his willingness to embrace change in the game will decide his tenure from now. Has learned a few lessons and as already mentioned Wright has a strategy layer out with which I believe our list management has on board. Voss has time on his side if he can produce an environment that grown the group in a tangible manner.

There is a good chance the AFLW resurgence reaches the men’s program a think or two. We parted with individuals Harris, Gee, Prespakis, Egan etc and put together a group committed to each other and the cause. We have a great young group and hopefully our recent trades bring a team first mentality as have Nick Newman and Nick Haynes recently, probably add Franky Evans with some luck. We have parted with some great, but too much self interested players to enhance the dynamic of the group. I am hopeful.

Ooooooooh......wow
MM saw a stop work action style that set in especially with him and the playing group........MM saw some very bad times with a better list than what Bolton had.......it was all very poor....in fact I got an education in how things actually work when a great club bottoms out.......i realize Carltons secret was confidence ,pure belief and clubs fear that...when you take that away via penalties and lack of resources....the bones of it are quite ordinary, still remained tough tho even in very bad times, great club

I think MM was done and he took Carlton job for money....he became very bitter person going forward
