Re: If we want Voss, had we better get a wriggle on?

BTW, should we be more worried about keeping Brett Ratten than getting Michael Voss?
Have to agree with this - would rather ratten than voss.

Rattern is also a premiership player and is carlton through and through, done an aprenticeship and would definately galvanise the carlton faithful even more i think.

Re: If we want Voss, had we better get a wriggle on?

Melbourne's list would be pretty appealing to a player like Voss.

McLean and Petterd could be moulded in his own image.

That said, I reckon he has Carlton in his sights.

Re: If we want Voss, had we better get a wriggle on?

I wouldn't bend over backwards to get Voss. As is well publicised, he has shown nothing coaching-wise. If it turnes out he can't coach it would set us back another coupel of years. We can't afford that.

This is all assuming Pagan goes, which isn't written in stone, but if the head coaching position became vacant I'd like to see someone like Ratten, Longmire or Harvey get the gig. Someone that's been around the mark for a while and knows what it's all about.

Re: If we want Voss, had we better get a wriggle on?

I can tell you that unless there is a massive turn around Voss will not be Coach of the Carlton Football Club in 2008.

Are you making an assumption or has someone indicated to you that this is the situation? Who would you tip to be coaching the club next year?

Michael Voss will coach Carlton FC in 2008...Don't worry about Melbourne FC. Michael is astute enough to know that strength in the front office is a pre-requisite for accepting any position i.e. Richard and Greg.

The recent announcement of the clubs hotel deals, record membership etc. ensures that the Carlton FC, whilst with much work to do, is on the improve.

More importantly, when Carlton FC play finals and in Grand Finals they invariably win them.

P.S. Denis Pagan has left an enduring legacy and that ought to be emphasised. A lot of young players', with the aid of hindsight, will see/agree where Denis was coming from.

Is there a reason why you feel your thought needs it's own thread? Could you not post this with all the other Voss crap in other threads?

Re: Michael Voss

As for 'Voss crap', I think you are being extremely disrespectful to a champion of the game. Why don't you go and put your manners back in.

Is than an opinion, or something that you know?

For a start at the moment it is crap because nothing has ever been said that Voss will be coaching Carlton. It's all rumour and specualtion.
AWG wasn't being disrespectful to Voss as a player or person.
Chill out a little, okay?

Re: Michael Voss

I and the rest of my family put money into Carlton FC. Not in the hundreds, either. As for 'Voss crap', I do believe it is a poor way to descrobe one of the legends of the game.

Mark my words...Michael will coach Carlton in 2008.

Re: Michael Voss

Are these words being marked meaning Michael will coach Carlton (at some stage in 08, e.g, if Pagan gets sacked mid-season) or will Michael be coaching from Round 1?

Do you put money into the club because you want to help it out, or because you want to buy and win friends?

Coming onto our boards and bragging about whatever amount of money you put inot the club is ridiculous. It's not an indication of what kind of supporter you are at all. There is no need for any sense of superiority on this board.

You and I both know that Voss crap referred to all the other rumours regarding Voss. They are crap, if you read them. Yours seemed no different to the other rumours we're having all the time about Voss and everyone who knows something, but isn't willing to spill. So I stand by what i said, you should have put your latest crap with all the other crap about Voss coaching carlton.

Re: Michael Voss

Michael is a man of honour and integrity. He will not assume the role of coach as 'caretaker'. He will be appointed for 2-3 years, hence, giving him time to implement the values, strategies, practices, systems and behaviour which will for part of his coaching philosophy.

Barry Mitchell will never ever coach an AFL club in anyway shape or form.

Cool. thanks for that. Anyway, i have to go and look after Maddox and Zahara and Brad. Honestly, it's such hard work being me...

Did i tell you all that George Bush is going to step down next week? He's going on holiday to the Caribbean and wants to live there to take his troubled ****ty daughters out of the US. Wise man that one.

Re: Michael Voss

Hang on for a minute AWG. Firstly, you confront me about 'posting'. I thought we lived in a democracy. Secondly, you questioned whether I supported the Blues or not...or had the clubs best interest at heart. Hence, my defence re: membership $$$ contribution. As for support goes, we live that far from Melbourne we rarely get to see any games. Whilst we have been bottom our support has not wavered.

If you do not like the post AWG, a) you do not have to read it and b) you do not have to respond.

Simple.

http://www.bigfooty.com/forum/showthread.php?t=342160

This guy reckons Melbourne and Voss and almost married.

Even if he is making it all up, the possibility is, well, very possible. Daniher has quit, and Voss is keen as mustard to coach.

If the Dees are into Voss, and if the Blues were also keen, then does this mean we'd better get a wriggle on asap??

How funny would it be if two clubs went tooth and nail for an unproven coach who hasn't even been an assistant yet?

Not Fireman Sam. No disrespect to the guy but he is a ***.

Re: Michael Voss

Word is going around that Melbourne have approached Ratten to go and coach there next year, however he has turned them down as apparently he will be coaching carlton next year?

Would it be possible that we may see Ratten coaching, with Voss as senior assistant coach? The carlton men may have been contacting Matthews to gain an insight into how Voss would go down as a coach.

Could we see Ratten as senior coach, Voss his assistant, with Lance offered some part-time coaching role?

This the sort of ""Voss crap" you mean, AWG?

Re: Michael Voss

HBF...watch this space my friend. Denis remarked this week that a person has to do an apprenticeship. Why? Because he did one and self-preservation. How would you feel, if you were Denis, after the events of last year...the board nearly sacked him with two years' to run. Denis has only one year left and the club has Australia's third richest man at the helm, who at age 72, is not getting any younger (coupled with health matters).

Richard is on record has saying that 10-11 wins is how he will assess the season re: pass or fail.

PS. The three most successful coaches today are - Matthews, Sheedy and Malthouse. All three went straight into the senior coaching job.
