With Bailey I don't think we need a Voss or Neeld

I would rather target Black or Ling or a similar ilk player that has recently retired or maybe about to reire

Yeah I make bad decisions all the time but I'm not the head coach of an AFL football team. These guys get paid big money to make the right decision. If they fail to do so, they usually get the sack. What's so hard to understand about this?

it doesn't change because of the $$$ .......so you allowed to make bad decisions because you're not on big $

I couldn't have made myself any clearer. Everybody makes bad decisions sometimes. Not everybody is getting paid a triple figure salary to make the right decisions though. Coaches live and die with the success of their team. Read my post properly this time because I won't spell it out to you again.

This view is outdated IMO. Coaches like all of us learn from mistakes. Im not saying that Voss didn't weaken his position as coach with that recruiting nightmare but it alone is not enough to judge him on. If you take the risk to take on a rookie coach with no apenticeship you need to expect they WILL get it wrong. If the Board was not prepared for that then they should be sacked! The fact is Brisbane have been slowly improving this year and now they decide to sack him! It was a weird time to do it.

a "triple figure salary" you say?

I hope nobody is getting paid triple figures, as a triple figure salary would be under $1000 per annum, wouldn't it?

Players making a beeline for the exit or holding off on signing a contract to wait and see if he's reappointed is a sure sign

I'm not suggesting you sack a coach for one isolated mistake. Voss had 5 years with Brisbane's list and they went nowhere. That's long enough.

Meh. Semantics aside, Voss isn't worth the 500 - 700 grand they we're probably paying him. It's easy to sit here and defend the guy from Brisbane's evil board of directors but your not the one who has to pay the guy.
