Good to see it's a multi-year deal. In hindsight we should have considered that for Richardson and Walsh.
Gotta disagree with you respectfully.
If we had done that we would not have traded up and improved our coaching panel.
Reading between the lines of KT's interview re the multi year deal, it tells me that we have a minimum period in which he will be with us, say 3 years and then he can be released for a senior role. Who knows, that maybe even at Port. Kern has said he cannot see himself doing this caper for too long.
As KT has said, the turnover of coaches is not necessarily a bad thing as it brings in fresh ideas and new talent.

OK **** it, here's your negatives.
Fair points, question is how much has he reflected and learnt from his past experiences. I'm looking forward to hearing Vossy interview when he's back from holidays. Hopefully we'll get a feel for how much he cares for the club and our success or does he see us as the perfect launch pad to get back into a head coach role in the near future. From the few quotes provided in the media to date sounds like he's come to learn as much as anything else.

That said I have faith in the club, and I'm sure they know where it's all at, and I'm equally confident that if Kenny doesn't feel like he's getting the assistance he needs then calls for improvement will be made.

I'm hoping we get both, after multiple premiership success, Vossy then gets a gig as a head coach :)

Excellent addition too our coaching panel. Hope he fits in smoothly, and continues to let Ken take centre stage.

A brave call to move to a "backwater" state, Vossy. May you learn and grow, and do our club proud at the same time.

Many players said Voss was the best sledger. And many of them said he was funny not nasty sledges - but could play the nasty boy if need be.

Love the one he did to brother Brett when he stood the mark and Brett was having a shot from 45m out close to his maximum distance.

please enlighten the younger generation...

really happy about this appointment , welcome aboard Vossy

Shaun Hart hit the Lionphone to sound Vossman out.

'Vossy get over here before Kenny beats me up during a game!'

The players seem happy so if they approve why can't I;)

It doesn't matter if he leaves after 1 or 2 years. It's what he does next year. Voss is a very passionate coach and was a wonderful captain. We are lucky to get him - actually luck has nothing to do with it. The club has built a great environment and hence we can attract quality people. We should be proud that many coaches have moved on to further their success and we should embrace this. We are Port Adelaide

I hope he thrives and becomes a valued coach at Port. Voss became a head coach too soon with too little support. Then, when he was really beginning to develop he got sacked too soon. But he can coach and he understands the midfield game - a great addition to your coaching staff. He will always be a Lion but I wish him well at Port.

please enlighten the younger generation...

His brother had a shot for goal from about 45m out 45 degree angle for Saints v Brisbane at Docklands. It was in the 2nd half and game was close.

As Brett ran in to kick the ball Michael yells out - "hey Brett, my father is sleeping with your mother." It was just enough to put Brett off and he missed the goal.

**** does this mean Hammer and Vossy are going to do the tackling drill in the sand pit at the southern end of Alberton oval with the slightly sadistic John Donohue watching over??? Shit I would pay money to be allowed to watch this session!!

I'm a bit behind with the Maggie's news. Where is buddha off to?

there was talk of Gold coast being interested in Buddha as head coach

people are forgetting voss coached Brisbane lions..and look they still haven't improved (no offence brissy)
When you make the short-term decisions Vossy made at the end of 2009, when he thought his team were finals ready enough that he didn't need to keep any of Lethal's assistant coaches and brought in a bunch of mid-age fringe players, it can cripple the club with an enduring legacy.

Voss a one club player and chooses port to break into first key coaching gig after lions. Respect Ken, KT and Kochie. Reckon he is salivating running young midfield of wines, Polec, Gray, boak, Hartlett, Wingard, ebo, Moore and young. Voss selection based on matching port ethos and value principles. Got nothing but excitement about his inclusion
