I don't know if we can afford for a drop off, as posted in another thread, our forwards are aging and who do we have that might carry us back to contention in 2 years? I doubt it will be Schulz, Hoff, or Butcher.
Harvey, Howard and Palmer. Maybe Shaw if he hangs about!

Harvey hasn't played a game yet, you think in 2 years he will be a competent, consistently goal kicking AFL forward?

I certainly hope he can, I hope he starts this week by kicking a bag in the SANFL, but it is unlikely.

Yeah harsh to just nail just Voss on this... Josh Carr was also involved in coaching the midfield these last few seasons. He has been a constant during the good and bad.

Fact of the matter is we just aint got no mojo right now, and as T said, yet to have our A Grade midfield group all together.
Unfortunately Voss is dominating the team selection as well as the midfield...He basically is a very good footballer with a big mouth and no idea..His aura is slowly being worked out at the Power as they did at brisbane....why would brisbane sack him ....same reasons

Seriously, either put up some evidence of your claims about the inner workings of the match committee or give your ongoing scurrilous claims a rest. It gets tiring.

Hear. Hear.

You've pretty much just put Paul Stewart right in it. And if he's telling you these things and you're running straight to an Internet forum that the club monitors is it any wonder he can't get a game?
Either that or you're nothing but a trouble making alias troll.

There has certainly been a change in our selections and midfield performance this year and the common denominator is Voss. I do doubt that Hinkley will allow Voss so much sway though. Outside of Voss championing Ah Chee's debut, there hasn't really been much evidence to suggest Voss is dominating the coaching panel. Tredrea has come out and backed Voss on Twitter and I'm not ready to throw him under a bus just yet but the heat is certainly on.

I know stewy as well as I do the other players ...My thinking is only around an elite sport being based on performance...nothing more..I actually think the same about Tom Logan who I would pick before Impey but that is another story You can think whatever you like, thats your call

How would Paul Stewart know he's dominating selection? It would have to be a coach in those meeting's wouldn't it?

Plus Ken is the boss, why would he allow himself to be dominated, especially if he's starting to garner concerns? hmmm

What I have been told is Ken was angry. You wouldn't need to be a rocket scientist to work that out however.

It's ok. You're not the only relative of a player posting here ;)

While I have no evidence personally, cant speak for the other guy, you do have to wonder.
Is part of the problem Voss? We were doing quite well and well on the way to a serious tilt at a flag.
Over the summer Voss comes in as midfield coach, Ryder is recruited finally, season starts, and it's turned to shit. Most agree a top 4 finish is out of the equation unless we perform miracles and go unbeaten. Maybe that even wont be enough. Some question even a top 8 finish.

Is Voss arrival part of what's wrong? Is what he is "coaching" part of it? Have he and Hinkley, and the other coaching staff, figured each other out yet and gelled as a coaching unit?

Has Ryder's arrival and inclusion in the team line up thrown an unexpected spanner in the works? Have we not yet worked out how best to play with another tall?

I don't think it's unreasonable to wonder about these things. I'm not saying this is what's wrong. I'm just wondering it's all part of the bigger picture.

Eitherway whatever is going on, I hope this weekend we turn up to play and send off a club legend by smashing our opponents.

That's sort of my point. Port always claims he knows players, people who don't sit in on selection. If his "inside info" is coming from Stewart or some other fringe player not getting a game it would be an opinion tainted by sour grapes and nothing more. They have no idea what goes on at selection meetings.
This poster originally announced himself on this forum with a post saying how he was in a pub where some Port players happened to be and overheard them saying stuff like "Kenny is a campaigner" or "Kenny is a w***er". Now he's apparently mates with a bunch of them. I find it hard to trust him or anything he says.

Mate I heard that Voss is actually a dog with bees in his mouth and whenever he barks bees shoot out of his mouth. Should WE be letting him choose our teams? (Which I've also heard he does and whenever Hinkley tries to object he bitch slaps him relentlessly, can't tell you how I know this though) You wouldn't want to hear where I got this from though, gotta protect my sources.

Why not? At 22 years of age, Tex Walker was tearing "a new one" into opposition defenders!! If the boy has the talent, I say: Why not??

Lol some of this Shit should be in the "POrt Adelaide poster, shakes head" thread.

But seriously, we'll probably never know what the problem is or how it started, but our midfield is playing like absolute poo and more often than not where there is smoke there is fire.

Tex Walker was banging home bags week in week out, including a haul of 9, in the SANFL.

The most pertinent part of that post was "if he has the talent". He might turn out pretty good, but we need more than that. We need a consistent, reliable, focal point to build our attack around, and to also contribute to the scoreboard, and we need it sooner rather than later.
