The theory in the reports on the Lycett contract offer is that Ryder will play more as a forward and Lycett will lead the ruck line. That is supposed to be what Port are telling Lycett. And why would he come back just to be second banana again?

Ken's not said he's against ruckmen but he clearly doesn't think Frampton is up to it. Maybe for buying socks on Bridge Road he is. I actually think they would have played Hayes if he hadn't been injured.

ha ha ! the socks.

Frampton didn't do much yesterday but in the last I think he stormed out from the forward line, grabbed the mark and belted the goal from 50 out.

With his aggressive nature he seems a bit like the next Dixon.

Don't waste the kid over summer Port.

It's the whole chicken and egg thing isn't it. Players before coaches or coaches before players?

Players not running hard it's the players. Players who don't run hard enough for long enough that keep getting selected, it's the coaches. If the coaches know a reason why they can't run hard enough, then perhaps it's the fitness program!
I can only comment on what I see, who's fault it is I can't say with any certainty but Our midfield has to much grunt and not enough skill.
Our transition from the midfield to the forward line is amateur at best.
I believe in playing to a a players strength, our game style seem to dilute that. Like I have said previously, players are are recruited by the club, selected by the coaches so in the wash up the blame should be on them. If player x is out of form and gets selected, that is the selections not the players fault.

I'm definitely in the Voss isn't anywhere near as big of a problem as he is made out to be camp.

Not setting the world on fire either but none of the coaches are, but it's up to Ken to lead the charge.

Seriously though the quality of our list compared to the performance shows our coaches and selection panel are clearly letting us down.

Is that Voss's fault? I don't know.

We haven't been the same since Walsh and Richardson left, that's all I can really say for sure.

To be fair - part of the blame for that lies in the fact that most teams play a plus one around stoppage, while we play ours in defence.
Yep this annoys me too. When we play a side like the Crows in particular it is very noticeable that they always seem to be able to get the ball out the back at stoppages.

Where is the story that Voss will step in Nicks' role coming from? I cannot find any reference to it on any of the news feeds and the Port website still has the story that Nicks and Greaves are leaving but that Voss is to continue in a development role.

I am not saying the story is not true but I would like to read the source.

That's what most people are taking out of the comments made by Koch.

Thanks, Kochie strikes again. Dumb me, I should have tuned into AA to find out what is happening. ;)

PS I just heard Koch tell the world that Hinkley is not going anywhere. He has obviously heard the rumblings of discontent.

Kane and G Lyon say Port lacks spine. Shame we couldn’t have brought Sean Burgoyne or another mature player in to demonstrate that to our players.
Shaun Burgoyne lol a bloke who skinned out for glory to come back and show us spine

Admittedly, i'm not a fan at all. I think a more general role may suit him more, I don't think the issue is his application or desire. Sometimes you just need to get someone in the right role. Ideally, you should be using specialists for the line coaching roles. Therefore, Lade to Stoppage Coach, Schofield to Midfield Coach, Voss to Senior Assistant, Mattner to Forwards.

My preference is that we didn't re-sign him, but what i've heard about him suggests he's pretty well liked, which seems to be the pass mark at Port these days.
