The full response provides more clarity, but of course he sneaks in another comment that makes you think, Hmmm, what?

Voss, a Brownlow Medallist, premiership captain and previously a senior coach in his own right with Brisbane, has been open about his aspiration to get another shot at coaching his own side.

But Davies was not expecting him to end up at the Kangaroos.

“I think that at the moment Michael has ruled himself out of that process so I’d be surprised if that was to change,” he said.

“Who knows where North goes down in the future but I should say we’re not looking for any new coaches so we’ll sort that out over the next period of time.

“I think we’re a pretty stable club and that’s certainly allowing us to do some other things during this trade period that will interest people.”

2022 is the year you want to look at taking up a vacancy. Covid will still impact the AFL in 2021 and the long term picture will be clearer in 2022. Voss will be happy to sit out 2021 with Port IMO.

End of 2022 is probably when Ross Lyon gets back into coaching unless Eddie sacks Bucks at end of this year.

Most of info below comes from AFL website at start of 2020 season. Had to search coaches contracts that ended in October 2020.

Michael Voss is completing the apprenticeship he wish he did 12 years ago in readiness for next senior AFL coaching job
Port Adelaide assistant Michael Voss is preparing to one day become a senior coach again – and this time, he’ll be ready.

Michael Voss had just turned 33 when he was appointed Brisbane coach in 2008 and 38 by the time he was sacked 107 games later.

If he was starting out now that would make him the youngest coach in the competition by four years, 15 years younger than premiership coach Damien Hardwick and 21 years younger than Ken Hinkley who was the AFL’s ‘coach of the year’ this season.

But Voss had always been ahead of his time or a young man in a hurry......................

This list/graphic was in the article

CURRENT SENIOR COACHES BY AGE

******* lol at how physically different Hinkley is to the rest of the coaches despite not being all that much older.

Hinkley looks about 70. If you said he was 6 years older than bucks you'd not believe it.

Holy crud!
Thought Ken was close to 60 and around 5 years older than Fages.
Assumed Ratten was next oldest followed by Clarko.
Appearances can be deceiving 🥴

IF PORT Adelaide assistant coach Michael Voss has sent his CV to Collingwood, here's hoping he has Ken Hinkley as a referee.

Speaking to media on Friday, Hinkley has given his longtime-assistant and the former senior coach of Brisbane a glowing endorsement.

Voss looked set for a senior coaching return at Carlton at the end of 2019 before the 'Teague Train' gathered unstoppable steam.

What would Hinkley know about successful coaching.
