Must say i am not 100% sure on Vossy as a coach. Couldnt have a more credentialed player in the coaches box however we know that doesnt always result in a great coach.

What i am pleased about is that PAFC can lure someone to Adelaide who is sitting on a lucrative TV contract and could easily get a coaching role in Melbourne if they desired. Speaks volumes about how PAFC are travelling at the minute.

Vossey wont be rushing to a senior position, openly admits he went the wrong way about it last time and would be settling in for the long haul at Port.

3 years minimum I would guess, which makes this pick up even better for you.

Surely not, unless there's a huge name out there waiting to sign up I reckon it'll stay as is and keep the stability. Losing Richo and Walsh two years in a row would have shaken things up enough.

Was one of the games great mids. Has a lot to learn from us about managing players but I think we can get the best out of him. On a side not....When he gets here I can't wait to have a chat and get a photo of him giving me a head-lock ala Josh Carr.

As a Brisbane supporter watching him for 5 years he is a good coach.

Just didn't have the apprenticeship/experience or Financial backing of the board to do the job required.

Working with Hinkley and getting him that extra experience on top of 5 years to the Lions is going to yield you a top shelf assistant coach.

My comment was just a bit of tongue in cheek comment, as we've lost Richo and Walsh after 1 year when we thought they'd serve their roles longer than that.

This is a really good appointment, he was one i had in mind but didn't think he would come to Port to be honest. The reasons he failed as a senior coach at Brisbane have nothing to do with his midfield smarts, so all in all i think this is a really big coup for the club.
