So what would be our likely outcome if Voss were to leave?

Monty to senior assistant, Bassett to defence, new mids and forwards coaches?

Given our penchant for choosing forward coaches, wouldn't be surprised to see us bring in Simon Prestigiacomo or Darren Glass in that role

John Butcher as forwards coach.

I know little of Voss beyond his Brisbane days, he has seemingly done a good job with Ollie Wines crediting him in his Brownlow acceptance speech. Is he someone that’s going to be missed at Port? Or, are supporters keen for a change with the whole department to go?

Or, is he just a bit sh*t?

EDIT: I know he is reasonably well received by the playing group, just wondering what supporters views are

I've been at club events where Voss has spoken, he is charismatic and a very good communicator. My personal thought is he would be a good head coach with strong technical support and he will take everyone along with him.

Probably the best scenario we could realistically hope for. Get Bassett away from the forwardline.

Might be too much of a stretch to ask for a forward coach aware of the concept of leading and kicking to the forward's advantage though under Ken's regime.

The whole 'lock it in the forward line', Charlie's one hander's and 'bringing the ball to ground' from my perspective, is trash. I miss Jay Schulz and a functional forward line.

Agreed. I do think the timing is right for him to move on though. Carlton would be a good fit too as they've got a good base to work with.

Bass can shout Ken's instructions from the bench - and adopt a Senior Assistant's (2IC) name for doing it.

Voss flying to Mel on behalf of the Blues to beg Clarkson to take the job

Hi Vossy, it's Cooky here. I just rang to tell you that we are really impressed with you. We think you are the best man for this job. Can you fly to Melbourne immediately and ask Clarko to coach us? I'll be at the airport holding a big brown paper bag.

I too miss Jay Schulz but we never had a functional forward line.

He just made the beat of a bad lot by nailing the shots even though we always pushed him so wide.

"Sources confirmed the Blues would not ask Voss to come over if they didn’t see him as their next coach, given he will need to undergo two weeks hotel quarantine when he returns to Adelaide."

I'm assuming apart from chasing Clarko, the other reason he didn't go over last week was because he had to participate in exit evaluations and meetings of the players, given you have to do 14 days quarantine on return to SA.

Given SA Health are supposedly snowed under with travel exemption applications I'm assuming Voss will probably have to wait a couple of weeks in Victoria before hearing from SA Health if he has been let back into SA. 2 to 4 weeks seems to be the wait to hear from SA Health re an exemption to return to SA.
