That didn't take anywhere near as long as usual.

Got a soft spot for rangas Portia?
If the first quote I saw was"
"I came here because its a successful club."
"Its a prestigious club"
"I want to work with Ken Hinkley"

they aren't good reasons. Ties into that bit about people being there for the laugh of the thing.

Wanting to come because of the club's dedication to ruthless self-improvement is bang on with the creed, and thats a dear thing to me. Its the best reason.

I still hate him though.

You have the best coaching panel, top admin, good players.

You win in 2015.

WRB, you're obviously in the know. Apparently Walsh was a guru midfield tactician / strategist. How do you rate Voss in this area? Also, what are your thoughts on his mid-field structures/set ups etc. Would you say this is a strength of his?

I'm just wondering if we've gained something we've lost in Walsh or perhaps Voss offers something quite different (something the club deliberately sought after).

Either way, hopefully this opportunity has ignited a resurgence of his senior coaching ambitions...in the future....far far, into the future;).

Way to avoid the question about blood nuts.

With Voss' mentoring, I wonder if Dangerfield will be less of a ****wit when Ollie runs through him this year.

A few points.

I have commented at length on how tactically astute Kenny is and how he can call a game three plays ahead. Walsh made similar comments that tactically, Kenny was the best he has seen.

I rate Voss as a Coach, Captain and Competitor, he is tactically very astute, pairing him with Kenny will be a win/win.

The shafting of Voss by our then incompetent administration was a mistake, we are lucky that it has worked out as well as it has. Voss as a second banana given his knowledge and experience is an amazing coup for PAFC. You win in 2015.

I continue to be impressed that a lot of our appointments almost come as a surprise.
I don't recall seeing any rumours or much in the way of stories about possible contenders/applicants.
All in all seems like a good appointment to me.

Also given the way we seem to be doing business I think we will come out of trade week with what we want/require as well. Right now I don't think anyone outside of our list managers really know what we have offered the Bombers. All the rumours etc are coming from their side.

Phil who? Brilliant appointment. Imagine the stars in the eyes of Wines and Chingard as they look up into the face of Vossy.

I wonder how Polec will react to the news.

Well stars in the eyes of Wines at least ;) Doubt Wingard would've heard of him.

one bloke who may benefit from having vossy mentor him could be andy moore. might be able to instill that mongrel at afl level, which i think is the missing part of the puzzle for him. not to mention the things that guys like hamish & ollie could learn from him.

Just found out about this and all I can say is WOW, simply brilliant and yet another massive coup by the mighty PAFC - when Kochie hinted recently that there was a line of people wanting to join the PAFC (both on and off field) I started wondering just who they all might be.

Damn I love our great club:D

Wonder if Voss will live in Adelaide or commute a la Laidley and Richardson. I think as midfield mentor he would have to live here. Does Michael have a young family?

Welcome Vossy. Will bring a lot to the club, love the way he played the game. Has so much experience and competitiveness to compliment the rest of our coaching staff. Nuff said

He loves football so much it's a part of him just like this image where he sneezes and out comes a sherrin.
