There's something wrong with what's happening outside of our list of players, we shouldn't be this bad. The midfield is too important of a position to give this role to Voss, someone who has shown to be a poor tactician. We need brains here, not brawn.

The common denominator is Voss, the midfield has clearly gone backwards since he arrived, he is in charge of the clearance set ups regardless of which ruckman gets his hand to the ball first.

The other issue ( as mentioned by others ) is the flippant way the preseason was treated, that flippancy appears to have permeated the players, many of whom are giving the impression ( particularly against the lower ranked teams ) that they only have to turn up to get the points.

A top 4 possie is now almost certainly farked, and there are plenty of teams fighting for 5 - 8 who will smash us if we are not fully switched on.

How about some genuine criticism instead of a ****ing pot shot meme which was relevant about 5 years ago. FFS some are too happy to take pointless pots at our players and staff when we're losing.

As Michael Voss is one of my buddies, I have to step in for him. Are you sure you can pin all of this on Voss? Maybe we're struggling without Wines in the team. He never missed a single game before getting injured, and then there's also no Polec to work with for a fair while either.

My old man pointed out just before that maybe Brisbane were determined to get a win over us since Voss is with us now, gave them a little motivation.

Yeah harsh to just nail just Voss on this... Josh Carr was also involved in coaching the midfield these last few seasons. He has been a constant during the good and bad.

Fact of the matter is we just aint got no mojo right now, and as T said, yet to have our A Grade midfield group all together.

What motivation Brisbane had for beating us is literally no excuse. It's Brisbane. They're shit.

Anyway, the midfield tactics surely come down to Hinkley. It has been said by our Chrizzt that Voss doesn't have a lot to do with set ups and tactics, rather more to do with the development of the individual games of midfielders. No one really knows who's in charge of what. Where is the criticism levelled at Josh Carr, who is officially the midfield line coach?

The whole team seems a shade of itself rather than the focused hunter it was last year. I am not sure that is Voss, lets face it our defense conceded 100+ and our forward line only kickd 50 points. Says full field dysfunction rather than one area.
Sorry for the intrusion but it seems like you guys have become the hunted rather than the hunter, happens to all good teams the quality is there however so you should bounce back

he was always been an idiot, was like Lingy when at channel ten, the list changes after he started at Brisbane were mindboggling. We have hardly got an effective clearance in 2 weeks. I saw multiple stoppages today where the goal side (for brisbane) was completely open for them to run into.
He is only part of the problem though, all over the ground nobody can get a loose ball, and hunting the ball in packs is also insipid.

I think you are right, even though you are a Crow

He's one of a group of coaches. They're all responsible for where we are now. Them and the players who talk big but have been found mentally wanting under tough conditions. The draw is awful and we've run into teams in some peculiar circumstances none of them too favourable to us. But mentally tough teams take that challenge and beat it. Port Adelaide used to do that week in week out. Now all we do is talk about it. As RussellEbertHandball has noted, talk is essentially cheap on a cost effective basis. Now is the time to prove it and prove it all night.

This year will be our version of Geelong '06. All great sides seem to have been successful for a period, dropped away then bounced back for a prolonged period of success. Our players need to mature that little bit more yet.

I don't know if we can afford for a drop off, as posted in another thread, our forwards are aging and who do we have that might carry us back to contention in 2 years? I doubt it will be Schulz, Hoff, or Butcher.
