Now that dont claim for him to have to sit in the coaches box, but it is common for the most senior assistant to sit with head coach on match day to bounce ideas off, and also its clear from his profile that his job does extend beyond just midfield duties.

No, Carr is the Midfield Line Coach, which is also the Assistant Coach.
It hasn't been said in this thread before, but Voss is not a coach.

i do hear what your saying. your saying that carr is the person responsile for the stradegies within the midfield (as a line), and Voss is responsible for the actual development of the players themselves. But i sure it must be more than that, im certain Voss is involved in the setups from within the midfield.

Ok, maybe I'm just being contrary here for the sake of being contrary...but what if the rumoured rift/unrest in the coaching department is because Voss doesn't like what he's seeing from the rest of the coaching group?

Cos I honestly have trouble believing that a triple premiership medallist (especially one as renowned as Voss for being a savage competitor) could come in and be 100% responsible for turning our players into a bunch of unmotivated vaginas within what, 8 months of being appointed?

Ask yourselves if Voss is the sole or even major reason for any of the following:

- our shit forward structure, subpar I50 entries that don't help us generate effective shots on goal, overthinking and passing the ball around instead of taking the shot on goal and not incorporating Ryder effectively
- lack of a second gameplan to fall back on to deal with negative flooding tactics that have just beaten us 3 weeks in a row.
- Westhoff looking completely lost on the field
- abandoning our near perfect 2014 balance of size and fitness in favour of turning the players into small bodied soccer bitches who can't stick tackles and who get smashed easily by anyone and everyone
- players not flying the flag and failing to be physically aggressive
- our STUPID selections

IMO it's the blokes who were already here who have some explaining to do. And nothing I've read or heard, esp from Hinkley, is giving me any confidence that they understand the seriousness or depth of our issues. 3 weeks straight for 3 losses, all against teams we should have beaten, including 2 home games 1 of which was a huge milestone game for a retiring legend of our club with no effective response from the players or the coaching group is just bloody concerning in anyone's language.

i dont come from the angle that its voss's fault. Im more of a believer that we miss the guy he replaced.

I also think that something has upset the playing group. Maybe it has something to do with the kane's retirement, maybe not. But for soome reason the guys just arent working for each other. I hate seeing it cos for so long we have been a tight knit group. Is it posible that there is something in the article last week about there being salary cap squeeze effecting schulz next contract? maybe it has something to do with Ryder coming in? clutching at straws?...yep. but the answer is out there. You dont go from being so good, to so shit for no reason.

Having Voss is not the issue. This form has been on the wall for a long time. We just happened to string 3 good games together at the end of the season to make the media write us as flag favourites. We've only won 9 out of the 22 games.

Think you're drastically under selling us there.
We didn't just "string together 3 good games at the end of the season" we smashed out 3 fantastic games in cut throat finals, 2 of them against some of the best competition in the league.

That 9 of 22 line is such a lazy throw away line that people love to quote. What does it actually mean? We had a down patch 2/3rds of the way through 2014 largely through to virus hitting the club which we then bounced back from and stormed home for the year.

Now we have a seperate problem causing us losses this year.
Sure 9 from 22 doesn't look good, but of itself doesn't actually mean anything.

The most well drilled game plan and/or astute strategies will seldom succeed when the players skills are as appalling as identified in the Richmond game.

Only repeating what others have said, but dropped marks, kicking for goal, poor handballs, failure to kick to a team mate or to their advantage all significantly contributed to the result.

Essentially the onus is on the players. It's not the coach's fault.

We can't change history but the players can and must drastically improve their skills if recent losses are not to be repeated.
