I volunteer my services then. I propose that on Mondays,Wednesdays & Thursdays (fixture allowing) that all the boys come around to my place for a traditional Greek feast of lamb on the spit and associated greek delicacies. Some greek desserts to finish. They pile on the kilos in no time ☺

That's all well and good but there's no point asking people to take the heat off Vossy without suggesting another scapegoat. I vote for Routledge, we are looking malnourished all over the field and we all know the nutritionist is the key player off field.

I blame Zambreros. However I am willing to be bribed with free burrito vouchers to silence my criticism.

Our midfeild without lobbe under voss , I'm guessing would be pretty good.
With him would be pretty horrible , so who will be at port longer voss or lobbe
I've been a Lobbbe supporter forever but seeing the second efforts of Trengove and the clearances achieved by playing to a losing ruck, well......unless he comes back even better (perhaps he will) I'm not sure he will be considered our first ruck any more..How old is he? Does he have more development left in him?

He is 27. However, Ryder is our first ruck. When Paddy is back Lobbe will be an adequate ruck. In a SANFL team.

Lamb on the spit isn't a traditional Greek feast.
A pig on the other hand is.

One ( or even two ) swallows does not a summer make , so I will wait and see how the midfield set ups go for the rest of the season before getting too excited about Voss as a midfield manager, because anyone with mince pies could have seen they were regularly stinking it up, eg Ollie Wines going for centre square hit outs, which happened enough times to suggest it was an instruction. o_O

Maybe he had to change through necessity, maybe Kern said, this aint working and my long term coaching coaching career is in jeopardy!
Whatever, let's not get too carried away with approvals just yet, and wait for what is revealed by the fullness of time. ;)

Hinkley talked up Voss and Buddha in his presser and fair enough given the flack Voss in particular has copped.

It looks like he's had some influence on the way Ollie is playing, he backs him in to bulldoze into packs and either get it out or just carry the ball and pack as far as he can. The number of times players fall on his back and aren't penalised is absurd.

Wines is getting some flack for his DE but his role seems to be to get the ball forward from congestion as often as he can. I remember Johnny Platten was not the most reliable disposer of a ball but he just got it so often sheer weight of possession buried you.

We really need to give this guy and his team more credit. Has been knocked pillar to post by everyone on this board, haven't seen anyone defend him once. But since the loss of lobbe Voss has actually had to work and to break even and win the clearances by 1, to be even be competitive in a midfield battle without a ruckman is outstanding. The setups they put in place to continually lose hitouts by 35+ every single week but still win the ball has been outstanding. Good on ya vossy and co.
I think it's more that Ken needs a "tactical genius" 2IC in his corner. He had that with Richardson and Walsh but Voss doesn't bring that to the table.

I dunno, Ken outcoached Roos and Goodwin yesterday.

I think Voss' time could be up at the end of the season. The coaching staff need refreshing anyway.

Has been in my family for at least since my great grandparents. Not a single greek family i know have a pig on the spit for Easter. ☺

Pig on the spit is a more characteristically Balkan thing, particularly in Serbia. More lamb in the mix as you go through Bosnia ;)

Useful for pissing off an Ottoman occupier. Eat stuff they won't even confiscate off you as tax - the tax only paid by non-Muslim imperial subjects.

Offer a juicy big chunk to the local pissant Bey's tax collector when he wanders over for a chat, along with some home brewed plum brandy, and a big **** you for coming.

Anyway. Not sure our midfield needs to pack the kg on, so stick to the boring old lean chicken breast, kids ;)

Pretty predictable miserable, insular post.

I don't really know how Voss contribution can be praised or criticised. It's nigh on impossible to solely isolate trouble to one particular area of the ground - we have stuck with the unconventional structure which was mildly successful for us throughout 2013 and 2014. Don't see how Voss is the guy culpable for that.

Maybe Hinkley has stepped in and taken some ownership of the midfield group. I'm just not sold on Voss at the moment. I think his mindset hasn't evolved since his playing days.

That's fair enough, but dude's on the big bucks to manage the midfield.

A midfield which bar Robbie Gray, has no members consistently functioning at a high level since he came aboard.

Scrutiny is going to come, deserved or not.
