Maybe Luke Power could take over as coach.

I am more worried about the players than the coach. That stuff from Caro is in the past. Not good rumblings out of the chairman about a lack of commitment on "and off" the field. Could be more to come.:(

It was more the "off field" part re: players commitment, that concerned me.....what does that mean?...lack of effort towards training?....a few players up to no good after hours?..

Michael can only do so much, the rest is up to the players on the ground during the match..

I've got no problem in sacking a coach at the beginning, mid or end of season if it is to benefit the club. If it is not working then it is not working.

I do have concerns about the experience of the board. They seem professional and appear to have a genuine interest in the club but they had to have an independent review last year. Why? Are they not in a position to manage the situation. Can they make a decision on Voss and if applicable appoint a new coach?

From the outside looking in it is getting closer, no doubt, for Voss to hand in his badge. Glad it is not up to me.

There's a few things that bother me about Voss as a coach..

Does he have too much faith in the playing group? Was this the reason he tried to top up our list in 2009 to get a flag while we still had Brown, Black and Power on our list? Did he overrate the rest of our list and believe they were capable of being premiership players? Is this why he is so slow to make changes on the field when as supporters we can clearly see a change needs to be made?

I don't know the answers but imo this seems to be part of the problem. I'm all for having belief in the playing group but at what stage do you start to rate the players for where they are now, not where they could potentially be in the future? Do you build a gameplan around where they are now and as we improve then tweak a few things to the gameplan that can make us competitive throughout the year and in finals?

Watching Melbourne Neeld wants them to play a brand of football that will make them competitive in finals. What's the point if they will never make the finals because they're players are not good enough at this stage to implement the game plan? It will only make the players lose confidence where as if you get them playing a style suited to their talent now and then tweak things as they improve imo it will be much more beneficial to them as a group.

This theory that Voss was 'topping up for a premiership' seems pervasive, but I just don't buy it.

In '09 the massive hole in our list from 6 years of draft failures to 2007 was evident. Once the oldies inevitably retired we'd have been left with a ridiculously bottom-heavy list (age-wise) with a smattering of average mid-agers. Thus I still can't fault the theory of trading in some mature-aged players. The execution is another story - specifically the players chosen and the price paid for Fev.

The irony that the trading spree which introduced players who turned out to be mostly abject failures (for varying reasons) ostensibly played a strong hand in pushing our few pre-existing mid-agers out of the club doesn't change the validity of the theory.

Looking at their fixtures so far they have not set the world on fire but Brisbane have played some pretty good teams.

They have either played low teams e.g. melbourne & gold coast which you had both won but the rest have been against quality teams e.g. collingwood, geelong etc.

Its a long season and there is plenty of time to show improvement this year.

Depends how you go against teams like north melbourne, richmond, Stkilda etc if you can win against many of those mid range teams I think Voss should be safe. If not well then he will be under big pressure.

Saw Browny on the news last night defending Vossy, isn't this one of the 1st signs a coach is going to get sacked?

Players don't set the agenda, they answer the questions that journalists ask them.
