Michael Walters retires.

Achievements:
239 games,365 goals, All Australian, numerous match winning moments, best player out of Bushby St Midvale.

Stood up in 2013 GF- which is the hallmark of a bloody good player.

From a guy who got sent back to the WAFL at Swan Districts and was likely to be delisted early days to a bloke who got All Aus and terrorised oppositions whether in the midfield or fwd line.

Thanks for the memories Son-Son

Man, this hit me hard when I heard the news. I knew the announcement wasnt too far away but it is such a shame he couldnt have that one more game to say goodbye. Will always be one of my all time favorite players on and off the field.
Another champion hanging up the boots. . Thanks for all the games Son Son.

Hopefully he gets a farewell game but given how tight the eight is looking I doubt Freo will be able to give him the luxury.

Fun player to watch when he was at his best.

Looking at his stats
His finals record needs some love.

He played in 13 finals averaged 15 possesions 2.3 goals

Never went goalless in a final.

Best performances
Adelaide SF 2012
15 possessions 3 goals (team kicked 11) aged 21

PF 2013 Sydney
14 possessions 3 goals (leading goal kicker on the ground)

QF 2015 Sydney
21 possessions 3 goals

PF 2015 Hawthorn
21 possessions 3 goals

(equal leading goalkicker on the ground both finals.)

2022 EF Western Bulldogs
18 possesions 3 goals

Dustin Martin had over 15 possessions and 3 goals in finals matches 3 times.
Michael Walters had it 4 times.
(I am not saying he is a better player though.)

My favourite ever Docker. As some have touched on, his period in the early to mid 10s was incredible. His running patterns during that time under Ross were unmatched to any others I have ever seen live (before or since). He should be incredibly proud of his career.

This bloke deserves main board discussion IMHO.

Regularly tore my club new ones, and others.

Took absolute screamer speccy's and kicked goals that are in the realms of the few.

I checked the Freo board and couldn't see any thread remarking his unbelievable career.

A career that should absolutely be highly celebrated

Please discuss
