Sad to hear. Best wishes to his family
I remember him clearly in 1979 GF. One of the best that day
I was there too and remember my older sister had a massive crush on Mick YoungTassie boy, from the south of the state. RIP.
I was there that day at the 79 GF. What a day.
Despite Young only playing 37 games for the club there seemed to be a heck of a lot of young females wearing duffel coats with #19 on the back during that time.I was there too and remember my older sister had a massive crush on Mick Young
Would squeal every time he got the ball
Forever a premiership legend

Had The Countdown look just right.Despite Young only playing 37 games for the club there seemed to be a heck of a lot of young females wearing duffel coats with #19 on the back during that time.
I think in video highlights package of him it is weird to see him and Greg Wells in same game playing for Carlton. Why he ended up at Melbourne was part of deal for Wells I believe but Wells was at Carlton before Young even switched over. Very different trading system back then. I think Demons tried to get Ashman instead. Think Young and Catoggio eventually was the final agreement.Sad news. Switched to Melbourne. Introduced my mum to Mark Jackson outside Princes Park. Not something you forget.

That was the first time I ever saw a double goal. Our nickname for him back in the day was, "Two Goals"
The video package shows him kicking a goal v Melbourne at Waverley. He gets hit after he kicks it and umpire awards him another kick and another goal. Broke plenty of games open with his dash. Marchesani was supposed to be a star but was a poor man's Mick Young.
That was Anzac Day 1980. 60k at that game (including my good self). A very good attendance for a Carlton v Melbourne game. Our nickname for him back in the day was, "Two Goals"
