Why is this man on 2.5 million over 3 years! This is a disgusting amount for a coach who has left West Coast in an absolute pitiful state. You better deliver the goods money man! You are getting paid 3 times the amount that of Kevin Sheedy and David Parkin. Collingwood supporters MUST not accept mediocrity from Malthouse/Mcguire. Do not #uck with our club MONEY men!

Don't forget how he abandoned the Dogs when he thought they were going under. I can't stand the man, the pies deserve him.

Oh dont worry sandie i dont reckon mick would even waste one of his farts in the presence of some one like you!!

mk90- good post and i reckon that is far too much money for any coach.
But mick is no fool if he cant steer collingwood in the right direction im afraid no one will.
all the best to you mick.

Can I ask the Collingwood people if any of you can tell me what the hell is going on with your playing list ?

Paul Williams happily traded away
Sav Rocca shown the door
15 players turned over this season alone

How much 'rebuilding' can you guys bear ?

Don't get me wrong - this is not (repeat NOT) a bash Collingwood post

I just want to ask if any of you people know what the thinking is behind all this player turnover stuff.

I can't figure it out - I was wondering if there is any method in your madness.

Thank you bloodstainedangel

Its good to see some one wanting to talk about collingwood without any smartarse comments.

Well the decision to delist paul Williams
was controversial with a lot of collingwood supporters.

To be honest williams was inconsistent and only seemed to play well when collingwood did
which i guess isnt to flattering.

Williams is one of those players that played only about 5 good games a year but those 5 games would be sensational with willo kicking goals on thr run etc etc.

I have a sneaky suspicion that collingwood were going to delist him late last year but prob decided to give him one more chance.

Williams will play well at sydney on the smaller SCG,I can just see him now running out of the centre kicking many goals.

But im afraid in the big games down here in melbourne he will go missing.
However i wish him all the best.

Sav rocca- damned if you do and damned if you dont, what could collingwood do with sav
the sad thing about sav is i noticed several
times watching him play he just did not look interested.

I mentioned this to supporter at a game earlier this year and nearly got my head
ripped off.

The thing that was so annoying with sav is the guy is huge and yet one on one with his opponent he would be easily brushed aside.

I found that the mcg on a sunny day sav would fire and dont get me wrong when sav decides to turn it on he is unbeatable.

I think the biggest criticism of sav is that
he became to inconsistent.

Its an indication that mick malthouse is very very serious about trying to get collingwood off the bottom.

thanks bloodstainedangel
i enjoyed your post immensly

yeah - I just checked out "wilo and Sydney" on NicksBB (thanks for quoting me there by the way - I'm flattered)

It seems you guys were all saying the same thing that I was basically. I know I was a critic of the deal at the time - but my attituide has softened a little since then.

Williams could be effective for us on our pocket-sized ground where he can really exploit his pace and of course anyone who tackles as hard as he does is always welcome at the Swans.

But I fear you Collingwood guys are right - a larger ground will see him go AWOL I reckon.

Why have I changed my tune ? - Because our selectors appeared to be very, VERY pleased to get him and Williams himself seemed just as pleased to be coming up, maybe he will take it all seriously after all, maybe he will look to Schauble as an example, MAYBE ...

I said in a thread yesterady that Collingwood making the 8 is a distinct possibility but because your list goes through the ringer every year, its impossible to get a handle on where you guys are at from year to year.

You look at Collingwoods results recently - 4 wins in 99, 7 wins in 2000 - one would expect a similar scale of improvement for this year, but thats impossible to call because your squad is so different from year to year.

cheers
