Mick Malthouse demands Sydney help end now

Ranking by premiership points? Bunkum. The fixture works off ladder position.

We played the top 8 ten times in 2013. And we played 4 of the top 6 sides twice.
How did you guys play against the tigers last week?
Is it fair to say that the day less prep and coming if a hard game had something to do with a sub- par performance?
A teams fixture can be quite easily made tougher or easier by tweaking these variables.

Dunno does laying one tackle in the first 15 minutes have something to do with coming off a consecutive 6 day breaks, we were woeful and copped a fearsome spray by Longmire.

Few ex players have said in the media 6 day breaks are essentially a non-issue and if there is any effect it would only happen in the last few mins of the last quarter.

Hawthorn play Sydney Freo Geelong Collingwood GC twice.
Sydney play Hawthorn Port Richmond Essendon GWS twice.

No one knows Richmond is going to drop like a rock this year, so at the time of fixture Geelong = Port, Collingwood = Richmond, Essendon = GC. Sydney has about one extra 'easy' game over 22 rounds, which they lost to GWS anyway. So the fixture really has minimal effect.

whats it like being the sane man in victoria?

I guess that's why since 2003, 9 teams have had 3 x 6 day breaks, and only one has won the third game.
Clearly no impact.

How many of those 6 day breaks involved special fixtures such as Anzac Day? Financial swings and roundabouts.

What were the respective ladder positions of the teams?

If a bottom four club was playing a top 4 club a 1 in 9 result wouldn't be any surprise.

1.
Special fixturing (Anzac Day ) is irrelevant when my point is that a draw can be harder or easier than simply the amount of good teams played.

2.
Well this year alone, two of the nine were Hawks and Cats

Well if a club arranges special fixtures for their own benefit and the knock on effect is a 6 day break then tough.

I know the Pies and Dons often have this issue.

Hawks vs Cats? Easter Monday. Play on.

Freo have only lost after six day breaks this year. They were all against good sides and the North game was on the second week in a row.

Sure, we play a taxing game plan but I'm surprised you would think that it doesn't impact a team.

Complacency was the issue, not exhaustion. The Tigers came out firing everything they had in from the get-go but couldn't maintain until half-time. We dominated them in the 2nd half, and if it wasn't for their goal after the 3rd quarter siren, they would have scored something like 6 points in the 2nd half.

We have always been terrible against the Tigers at the MCG.
They have beaten us the last three times there prior to last week, including our p'ship year in 2012.

My very simple argument to cola

Is this

Every swans fan says it makes no difference that they have cola ...that they would still be winning if they didn't have it......hmm

If that's the case LETS REMOVE IT AND SEE HOW THEY GO?

And I keep asking ...what have the Brisbane Lions done since their COLA was removed ...DIDLEY SQUAT

THE BRISBANE LIONS kept losing players they couldn't match ....even last year losing yeo to west coast

It's a no brainer ....more cap money simply means more talent on the park......that isn't rocket surgery as my mate would say :)

So you think paying COLA to fringe players, off-casts and 3rd and 4th round draft picks is the reason Sydney is successful? Really?
Keep in mind we won the flag in 2012 before we got Tippett and Franklin.

Keep in mind that the AFL WON you the FLAG in 2012!

So even your saying it makes no difference .....your saying it makes no difference

Take it away

Every post by a swans fan says It takes makes no difference at all

Take it away .......then you get all defensive and start saying oh it goes to young players and crap like that....

We are not stupid.....young players often live in budget accommodation sharing ...they don't need cola

The big paid players are the ones getting more.

Mate, we all know this to be true and a self evident fact, but logic & Swans fans are so far parted these days that even the self-evident is lost on em!

We all know if they didn't have COLA, then they'd have no Buddy & that without AFL intervention they'd also have no flags in the past decade!

Add to that their heavily weighted joke of a Fixture this year & it's not terribly hard to see where the AFL's agenda well & truly lies. To the cost of the competition's integrity & to the detriment of all the other 17 Clubs in the League!

Every Swans fan I know couldn't care less if we have COLA or not.

If you, and others like you, believe COLA won us the flag, you're the stupid one.

There is definitely a need for COLA to balance the current inequities in the competition.

Brisbane is proof of that.

All Sydney is saying is that we will stay on top anyway. We dont have a culture of blame which is the real secret of our success over the last 15 years.

LOL!:p

Yeah......NAH

No AFL handouts, leg-ups, Look the other ways, Tribunal pardons, Finals Fixture tampering, Season Fixture handicaps = Secret to success....It's no secret, in fact, it's an open joke which only newbie Swans supporters swallow hook, line & stinker!

Let's have another look at 2012.

Swans have a team full of rejects from other clubs, are without a recognized forward, Goodes is hobbling on one leg and Richards barely able to run.

Hawthorn has a team of stars picked up after tanking to the bottom for a while (a luxury Sydney doesn't have) and playing on their HOME ground.

Yeah - I can understand the hurt.

Yeah it's easier to blame. Doesn't get results. But - it's easier.

Really

Hall ended up being a thug as always

Ouloughlin should be jail .....that was swept under the carpet by him and the afl. He Piaf his way out of that ....

Yes your a great club but your success is very much supported by the afl ....the afl wanted two Sydney teams ....so swans success was paramount to that push to have two teams.

By the way Perth is justas expensive to live in as we have FIFO workers pushing rent thru the roof...everything we buy has to travel here to Perth .....our fuel and land taxes are the most expensive in the country and Perth was recently adjudged by an independent panel to be the 2nd most expensive city in the world to live in when you consider all living costs ....rent is one thing ....

Everything else you pay for needs to be added into the equation

The cola I'm glad is going ...and players will need to apply for rental assistance

Buddy franklin on 1 million a year should not be getting extra money ....that is beyond a joke
